Well the tech is convinced that it's oil and not power steering fluid. They cleaned everything off and let it run for an hour or so and they couldn't find any leaks so they put a dye in the oil and I have to come back after 600-800 miles. I think I would rather have a power steering leak:facepalm:

Did you have the oil changed recently? It could have been spillage when adding? But, it did look too brown for that. Just trying to be optimistic.

OP: I had to have the rack and pump replaced within the first two weeks of taking delivery of my 16. Fluid was filling up in the boot, causing the reservoir to lose level after each top off.

Nice! They're convinced it's not P/S fluid but oil so they put a dye in it to see where it's coming from. I guess I'll find out in a few hundred miles when I take it back.

Thanks, I'm hoping it's a fluke and someone was just messy on the assembly line but I doubt it:oops:

That doesn't happen on the assembly line. And if you haven't had any fluid changes yet, than that is not a good sign

I saw my first white third gen in person the other day, and fell in love with it. White and quicksand look great on it. Red or blue, not so much. (No offense to anyone) Good looking truck, pal.

That oil color looks too dirty to be new oil/ spilled while filling. He's got a leak, plain and simple.
