    2003 Extended Cab TRD
Hey guys just an update on my 2003 TRD Extended cab getting the frame replaced... Dropped it off Dec 9th and am still looking until at least mid march until the frame comes in. I tried getting them to buy it back but they won't budge..

Since I am getting the whole rig basically taken apart and won't have it for about three months, I want that baby to be pretty much brand new when i get her back. I bought new Bilstein HD shocks for them to install on each corner during the change. My truck has 122xxx miles on it, does anyone have any idea if the springs should be replaced in the front? and if so what brand should I go with?

Also since I'm posting..anyone have any idea how to get a TRD center cap on a stock wheel?

2003 is not part of the "buy-back", only '00 and earlier were. also since it was an '03 it was covered until 2018 (15 yrs)

springs, no clue, maybe someone will chime in.

probably eBay or CL or may someone on here has some laying around. post a pic of what you're looking for in the Buy/Sell/Trade section

I use to work for toyota and did quite a bit of the frame replacements myself. Also did my own truck. front coil springs are fine and new leaf springs come with the new frame, most people just replace the shocks also since the body will be off the frame its the best time to get the timing belt/ water pump replaced ( if you have the v6) or if you have anything else like oil leaks or something like that. They should discount you in some labor since everything is out of the way.

well at my shop the would discount the labor cause on stuff like that, like if the tbelt usually charges 5 hours of labor they would charge maybe 2.5 or 3, now shocks shouldnt cost you anything cause they have to change those and take them off to transfer to the new frame.
