    Work in progress...
My wife and I took her X3 into BMW for a scheduled maintenance. We had a pre paid maintenance plan and they treated us like shit from step 1. Then, to top it off, the damn X3 broke down about 20 mile from the BMW dealer. So we go a flat truck ride back to the dealer and at about 6pm, our appointment that we were on time for was at 9am, we were on our way back home. Oh it cost me 50 bucks for the deductible. Anyhow, about two weeks later a check shows up in the mail for 500 bucks from that dealer along with an apology...go figure I certainly didn't expect that.

I’m just trying to get people to understand that these injectors are probably around $300 each. God only know how much that high pressure fuel pump is. I’m not saying the diesel did damage to it on that short amount of time, however with it now sitting for a day that’s not going to help the situation either. Could be an easy 3k in injectors alone not including any labor. Back when I worked at a Chrysler dealership. Some of those flex fuel injectors were $650 each. I have no clue if the direct injectors would be more than the normal one on the Tacoma. Either way I’m sure they aren’t cheap and your gonna pay full retail for the parts at the dealership on top of $115 an hour for labor.

Yep that’s not good, hopefully if that happens only the plugs are effected. Definenly not good for the engine to be trying to run in it. Has a higher flash point so it won’t ignite as easy. Also not good that it’s sitting longer. People think just because diesel is more of a lubricant it’s not going to do harm. It’s also a lot denser. Those injectors aren’t designed for it and injectors today aren’t like injectors 20 years ago. Our trucks injectors also have a special port for the self cleaning. That gets gummed up or blocked and your gonna start getting a lot of carbon build up. But what the hell do I know? I’m just saying If it was my truck and not at my own expense, I would atleast want all the injectors replaced along with a complete flush. Then see how it runs and make sure the pump pressures are fine and she’s running like a top

Hoping the truck gets fixed in the morning and OP has no issues with taking truck and not needing to cover ANY expenses.

$2.51 here today. Like someone stated earlier though, I'm located near the gulf where a lot of refineries are. State tax on fuel is not to bad in Arkansas. Although, they may raise it soon to get money for future road construction.

I used disposable gloves when I had diesel X5's - great MPG (the pumps are always dirty and was a big PITA) as the stations always sandwiched the diesel in between two regular fuel pumps- so you always waited. Anyway- having 1 vehicle gas and 1 vehicle diesel was always a stop and think moment at fill-up. oddly the BMW logo near the filler had a yellow (label) and some diesel handles had a yellow handle.. and some stations had green or black handle..so you really had to stop and think-- what puzzled me was the diesel nozzle was larger in size but the unleaded is smaller and smaller can fit in a larger hole (what she said..) why not make diesel a different shape altogether? (yes BMW has a second sniffer shut off that smells gas vs. diesel) but still not all diesels are german engineered.

FUN FACT: when you have a diesel vehicle at the pumps they have two pump handles (one is taxed diesel one is non taxed) honor system.. is this a farm use fill or roadway fill? HA!
