Did the OP smell the filler? That wouldn't have cost anything and would've known if it was diesel right away.

Yeah, you're right, because normal people do that every time they fill up their vehicles

Exactly don’t even need to smell the filter. You would notice it while pumping...unless you’re clueless

I know op didn’t do this but I’ve seen people pump diesel in their car and never put two and two together that the nozzle doesn’t even fit.

Happens all the time. People are idiots. Perhaps this is why you’re not allowed to pump your own gas in jersey

I’ve pumped enough to know the difference between diesel and gas but I’m always more concerned if I’m getting the quality of fuel that I’m suppose to be getting. Only mistake I’ve made before was pump off road fuel into a truck because I just got done filling up a storage tank in the bed. Thankfully never got checked lol.

There is a big difference between a person putting the wrong nozzle in their vehicle because they are too stupid to read or pay attention to what they are doing... VS some trucker who pumps the wrong fuel into the tank...

I could be wrong here but I thought it was a different connection for the diesel vs gas storage tanks.

I thought the tanker fill nozzle didn't match up for this very reason and prevent that from happening?

I doubt diesel was dumped into the tank. It’s possible it’s some bad gas or some water or something got into the tank.

I’m going with a bad CPS though

That's true. A diesel nozzle is bigger and as a result will not fit in a gasoline vehicle.

I think OP just had bad gas
