Whining noise at 2200+ rpms

Hi all,

I have an 01, 3.4L, 5 speed Tacoma with a 2nd gen. supercharger. A few days ago it started making a pretty loud whining noise starting around 2200+ rpms all the way until I shift gears. Once I shift it sounds fine until I get into those higher rpms again, and so on. A friend noticed the center bearing needs to be replaced but I'm pretty sure that that's a different issue. Anyone have an idea of what could be causing this alien-like whine? Thanks for the help.

 

Sounds like a bearing. I'd listen to your friend,think about it its spinning so is the bearing the faster you go the louder the whine gets .... 1+1=2

Light came on and the code that came up was for a knock sensor in bank 2. I've read lots of mixed things about knock sensor codes so don't know what to think. I don't have the time nor the know-how regarding a knock sensor so it looks like time to drop it off and get bent over. Thanks for the help
