U made my point perfectly! The problems with this generation Tacoma is well documented, and I can speak to it also from my experience!

You shouldn’t have to do “research” on a Tacoma to see if the diff will start whining at 2k miles. That’s absurd.

To say “it’s on you” if you didn’t do an internet deep dive only to discover the diff whines on many of them after you’ve had it for awhile... also absurd.

    It’s a whine...how many have actually failed? It’s noisy.
    Doesn’t mean it’s unreliable.

if you bought a vehicle with documented issues and failed to heed any of them its 110% your fault for not researching

You’re over-estimating the brilliance of 99% of the people buying new vehicles these days. My mom doesn’t even know how to use the internet (and she shouldn’t be expected to accept a $38k truck that sounds like a kazoo at 3k miles).

The issue isn’t reliability. Far from it.

Had the incredibly obnoxious diff howl. It was slightly reduced by the TSB. The TSB replaced the rear leaf springs and added “frame dampers”. Later on I replaced the diff-noise TSB leaf springs with Icon RXTs when lifting my truck. Noise is completely gone, rides a heck of a lot better and I didn’t have to go to the dealer and get the runaround.

I think the noise is a resonance that travels from diff to leafs to frame and then to the cab. My solution worked. I wouldn’t expect replacing the diff pumpkin to do anything. It’s not a bad bearing...

Speaking of whining -- Do you actual contribute anything to this forum other than complaining about other people?

@Ike H-mope-Dope you can always buy a Honda ridgeline if you don't like your Tacoma, this site is for Toyota enthusiasts not unhappy cry babies who cant handle the fact that the Tacoma out sells every truck in its class by the thousands

so if you bought a house with a leaky basement for half a million dollars because it was dry the day you bought it and didn't care at the time about it you would whine online about your failure to have an expert look over the house or research it yourself to look for possible serious problems, you just hand over your hard earned money and call it good and hope for the best. also these possible issues for the 3rd gen Tacoma have been documented a million times since 2016 but that hasn't hampered the fact that Tacomas outsell the competitions trucks by millions since 2016.

You better believe the mainstream Tacomaworld koolaid drinkers

Shortly, Tacoma Fanbois will be unable to reason or think for themselves. They'll only be able to parrot the information they've been given on the previous night's press release.

That analogy makes no sense. It's also oddly specific. Who are you really scolding here? Anonymous internet strangers or yourself?

I think I get it. This isn't about you, the OP, or me. It's about your love of the Toyota Corporation. This reminds me of the good ole days of Apple Fanbois getting angry and outright livid if someone said a PC was better than a Mac. Don't worry. Toyota's are amazing, and since you identify with Toyota's, you are amazing.

Interesting fact -- Infants don't have really have a sense of self. In their infant brains, there's no difference between them and their parents.
