It's not really a squeaking sound like I've heard about here. More of popping sound and vibration sensation in the pedal when moving from a complete stop in 1st.

I've made an appointment to have the dealer inspect my truck. I was able to have a Toyota technician ride with me and document the sound. I was also able to test drive another 6-Speed manual that was on the lot and comfirmed that the dealer truck does not produce the sound when pressing clutch pedal. The technician described the sound in my truck as a spinning bearing sound possibly being the throw out.

Hi guys, if anyone is interested. I have dropped off my truck and am awaiting inspection results. I Hope this thread will prove helpful for anybody that has a truck with symptoms similar to mine.

UPDATE: was told that Toyota Engineering wants the transmission dismounted and inspected for possible worn throw out bearing.

Would you try to remember to post or send me a copy of your work order when you get it since I have the same issue?

    ATTENTION IMPORTANT UPDATE:

Got ofF the phone with my service advisor. The Mechanics and Toyota Engineers believe that possibly during manufacturing the Clutch Pressure plate was either torqued too tight or too loose and was causing the clutch, fly wheel throw out bearing to rub. They are going to install a brand new fly wheel, clutch, clutch pressure plate and Throw out bearing. Will be 3 to 4 days for new parts to arrive and be installed. I hope this is the answer.

Will post my work order when I get it.

That's what some of my coworkers were trying to tell me it was but I didn't have enough knowledge about the inner workings of a transmission to either agree or disagree.

    Thanks for keeping us posted.

Idiots....they should be able to tell you if it was torqued too tight or too loose. Sounds like BS, they don't know why it happened. They should have done torque to loosen. I guess its too much to ask for the factory to use torque controlled tooling with torque and angle feedback? Sounds like they are throwing parts at it. Hopefully the end result is that it works, but root cause is still fishy.

Hello again guys. I'm pleased to tell you that I have my truck back and and the issue has been fixed.

During inspection the technician found that one of the pressure plate bolts was over tightened and the washer had been completely crushed and apparently was causing the clutch and flywheel to wear unevenly after he found hot spots on the flywheel in the area of the overtorqued bolt. New clutch has a 500 mile break in period and I would like to update this thread in the future.

The technician was instructed by TAS to replace my clutch, pressure plate, Flywheel and throw-out bearing.

Please see attached work order and technician notes. Thank you

I wonder how in the hell they managed to over torque a bolt. Does seem possible to make it sit slightly uneven though, glad to hear they fixed you up.

I totally understand how you feel. My auto had troubles until I pressed intensely for a manual fluid check, it was 2 quarts low. I hate seeing others go thru the same.

Well, if they can under torque a diff bolt. I'm sure they can overtorqued a pressure plate bolt.

Glad to hear you managed to get them to fix you up . It Blows that my armchair diagnosis of a internal bearing was bad but if the noise was similar to the video you posted , I am assuming your old throw out bearing was side loading due to the uneven pressure plate fingers

If there was hot spots in the flywheel then the clutch disc was probably still spinning even with the clutch depressed that means the shafts were spinning in the transmission. It may have been hard to select gears with your foot on the clutch but not necessarily..

Toyota did fine they found the problem and corrected it everyone acts so amazed when they DO warranty their work..

    Have fun with the truck!
