    few things here and there.
    Hey y’all.

If you don’t mind reading this, I’d love your feedback. I’m losing my mind here.

So long story short.. my truck was hit by a deer. The fender was messed up, mirror knocked off and passenger window cracked.

All that has since been repaired.

Post repair.. I noticed two things.

    1. My 6x9 speaker is suddenly blown
    2. I have a whistle that I hear when I’m going 50-60ish. (Have not gone faster than that since to test further)

It’s odd that the speaker is blown suddenly, I feel the shop may have accidentally done it, but of course they take no responsibility. Regardless, I have two need speakers on order.

I’ve checked the weather sealing and everything looks right. There is a SLIGHT little gap on the fender by the weather sealing. I’m unsure if that would cause the whistle. Im also unsure if a blown amp can somehow create a whistle when I’m accelerating. Mainly because more gas doesn’t necessarily mean mean electricity, right? Issue with the whistle happens with the radio on or off. Occurs when I’m in neutral, I’m fairly confident it’s not engine related. It’s not obnoxiously loud, but my god.. it’s at just the right frequency to where it’s noticeable and annoying as hell.

If anyone has any bit of advice on where I can start… I’d love to figure this out. The shop is dismissive and claims the repairs shouldn’t have caused that. Stick my the truck to the body shop neither of those issues persisted. Either or, I just want to try and fix the whistle.

    Thank you so much.

Start by putting a piece of tape over the area you think there is a gap. See if the sound goes away.

Only thing I can suggest is maybe put some painters tape over the suspect area and see if the noise changes or goes away.

So if you find with tape it is not the door/door window seal try the windshield area.
Possible if hit was harder than you/they thought and an area that often came with too little sealer holding the windshield in.
This was a common problem on some gen2s with the Baja production code but that's another story (kazoo noise).
