IF this is the noise we have a few threads going and Toyota working on it. You have to take your truck in and let them hear the noise. Make them write a service ticket on it. More of a Howl between 35-35mph

The guys sent out from SET said sounds like a drive shaft issue. That's what I thought it was after trying everything to change the airflow. They are confirming an issue which is a good thing. A TSB should follow at some point down the line. Bob in Florida has done a lot to remedy his truck. I am taking his service tickets to my dealer who has already opened a Service Ticket on the howling

Tried driving with hood unlatched no change
    Packed interior vents No change
    Removed air dam No change

    Its mechanical

Based on the number of people on this forum alone who seem to be reporting this issue, it's probably pretty widespread. Pitfalls of being an early adopter of a new gen I guess? As someone pondering the 2016, this is the sort of thing that makes me consider waiting it out until the 2017 or 2018 instead.

Yeah its a hassle for sure. But for those of us retired , we have the time to see this through and find a solution. Bob had regional DSOM confirm the issue. Thats a good thing. I think it is drive shaft related. IF so, That is an easy fix. I am going to my dealer this morning with his paperwork. Mine has not come in from region yet,

This is how TSBs are born

Let us know how it goes! When I go in next week I'm bringing Bob's paperwork as well.

No, I'm in Harrisburg, PA. I've had mine for at least two weeks and still haven't see another 2016 on the road yet.

Me neither. When you take your truck in, and confirm on a test ride it is the same howling, have them call the DSOM in the Southeast region. Tell them SET is aware of it and does not claim it is a characteristic of the truck. All trucks are not exhibiting this issue.
