This is my “white cobra” build! You’ll see where the name came from within the build. This has been a slow project for the past 2 years and still has a long way to go. I will keep it up to date the best I can.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I’ll post some more in depth progress of the build in its early stages.

I started the real build off when I took off my front bumper to motivate myself (and my wife) to get a nice aftermarket off-road style bumper. Needless to say.....I was without a bumper for a bit.

My first buy was a smoking deal on a pair of avid rock sliders I found locally on CL for $100! It was a dream price!

Couple months following the rock sliders, I located another stellar deal on CL for a Lex off-road front bumper. Seller was asking 400 but with a little negotiating I was able to steal it for a wonderful $200. I was feeling pretty confident with my CL finds and had the imaginary idea that I could do my full build solely off CL. Hasn’t worked out that way. Note, I also bought an aftermarket TRD scooped hood that was primed from a local junk yard. Hood was brand new and paid roughly $130 for the hood.

Truck sat without change for almost 6 months when I stumbled upon a buddy with a long travel tacoma who was wanting a more Baja style bumper. He loved mine and we were able to work out a deal for a bumper swap and he was generous enough to throw in some nice aftermarket headlights.

    Here’s his ‘08 tacoma:

Here’s my truck and the process of welding the new bumper onto my truck.:

Did a lot of frame cutting to have the bumper tuck nice and tight to the truck. Here’s the old man putting in work. He used to own a welding business and is near retirement so I had him whip out the old dusted welder and get to work. Always nice living close to family.

All welding up looking pretty.....almost! Needs to get painted! What better way than with some lovely rattle can! Truck sitting next to one of our patrol rigs.

Along with painting the front bumper, I went ahead and touched up the rock sliders and attempted to paint the primed hood myself. Used rattle can and since I’m no professional painter, it did not turn out well. Even with the horrible outcome, I still have yet to have it repainted because honestly I just don’t care enough.

Truck again sat unmodded for a couple months and within that time I moved my family to forth Worth Texas to live closer to my wife’s family. Since the move in August 2017, this is what has been done.

Removed fender flares and replaced them with 5/16 bolts that I painted black.

Love the stance it gives piggybacked with -12 offset and inch and a quarter spidertrax wheel spacers.

Finally did the cab mount chop along with flattening out the pinch weld and then topping it off with a nice clean fresh coat of black spray paint inside the wheel well. Made a dramatic difference to the look and really gives the truck a new impression.

Did some cleaning before applying the paint.

In between paint, I had the genius idea to chop my exhaust at the axel! Already have it straight piped which is having to change soon in order to get my truck to pass inspection in the state of Texas. The one thing I loved about Washington where I lived is that we had no emissions or inspections in our county.

Here’s a random photo to give you perspective of who I am and what I hold most dear to my heart. My wonderful wife sometimes struggles thinking I care more about my truck and guns more than her, but then quickly realizes that all I do is for her and our son!

JK, more build to come. As of now, truck will sit as is until the wife approves the suspension or a tinker with some new small mods.

    To be continued.....
