No collar (in college) but former blue (painting, prior airforce aircrew) going to be green, white and some blue, too (GIS/Geotechnology systems, hoping to work in O+G while also developing wind farms)

My office is in the basement so I'd say about 1 second for me! :D

I love my job, although I've wondered how long it would take a printer to hit the ground off the 5th floor......

brown collar for 10 yrs. now. have been staying at home raising 3 kids, changing diapers, paying bills, doing all the friggin housework etc. i am so ready to go back to my blue collar roots. this stay at home dad job is the absolute toughest job i've ever had and i've had some real doozies. this job just doesn't feel like you accomplish anything,(you don't see results for a long time),..........if that makes sense.

none except for crappy hub caps and floor mats.
I've done both, so I guess I'd be a "light blue" collar. I've worked as a Bus Boy, landscaper, paint mixer, window repair guy, lawnmower repairman, and hardware salesman. Now I work in an office and have done so for 5 years. Both have pros and cons: The other jobs paid less but you got to talk to more people, plus it was less mentally demanding. The office job pays more, and is more mentally challenging, which I sort of prefer.

But I do miss interacting with people.

I'm kinda in the middle. I have to deal with people daily in a professional manner. Then I have to get dirty later on.
If I had my pick I'd be blue collar all the way.

I work a very white collar job as a manager of 36 sales people. The money is good so I guess I wouldn't change that, but if I could work outside or mod my taco all day for the money I make at this job I would do it in a heartbeat!!!
