i would like to agree yet disagree. it all comes down to the location/manager theres 2 by my house and i always go to the closer one (go figure) because of how much they work with and take care of me. my aunt took her highlander to the other one thats a little further out and after 2 hours of them having her car and us returning to come get it they told us they didnt have the tires and she would have to come back the next day. i told her to get a refund and i called the one close to my house at about 10 minutes before closing time. that discount tire drove 30 minutes out to another discount tire (or there warehouse?) and got her the tires she needed mounted balanced and installed after they closed. if thats not good service idk what is

The two locations that are in my area arent that great, 1 of the locations doesnt seem to know how to balance tires very well, I blame the equipment mostly, and some on the lack of experienced techs. If your balancing a tire and your wrapping a ton of weights on there maybe you should pull the bead and rotate the tire. Using a road force balancer would be great too, but i dont think that discount tires has one. The other location hammered weights onto my wheel and missed and hit the rim, scratched the crap out of it and dented it. My truck was only 5 months old at that time (took it there due to a nail in the tire).

I found an awesome shop here in Mt. View, they acutally take pride in their work, even used the sticky weights so they dont damage the face of the wheels. They weight balance the tires and wheels separately to find the heavy spots on them, then counter set the heavy spot on the tire and the wheel. They had a print out the the specs for my vehicle they used as a guideline for mounting the tires and for the air pressure. Overall its a little more expensive, but damn do you get what you pay for.

I have Goodyears and wish I got the white letters in. They are a PITA to keep clean so mine are usually just brown letters, but the worst part is the whole sidewall has a white band in it so if the black lettering (tire size, name, load rating, etc) gets scuffed up, the white shows through. I ended up with white chunks all over my sidewalls and it just looked like shit. However, I have Goodyear Wrangler Territory sold at Canadian Tire, because I'm poor. The Duratracs may not have the white sidewall underneath.

I have a recently lifted taco with factory wheels, white letters in (my truck with the retro decals). I am about to go white letters out when I put my new tire size and aftermarket wheels (that are all black). I will be installing them in the next week or two. And here is why, The pic of the truck with the soft topper was stolen from TW and I think that it looks badass with the white lettering out.
Even though I am sure that I think this is a good idea! What are your opinions? :jerkoff:
