White Tacoma or wait for Red?

Who has a white Tacoma and how has it treated you?

I have a deposit on a red Tacoma, but long story short it's stuck in limbo at the port and I'm considering backup options.

Two of the trucks that just became available and closely match my ideal build are both white. Because I live in Southern Arizona, white is a very practical choice, but I'm not really excited at the idea of a white truck.

**Update: Thanks for all the input. I talked to my sales guy today and because of this mystery limbo, the dealership is letting me keep my original hold on the Red OR that’s stuck at the port and also put a hold on an Army Green OR that just got allocated.

The white options i was referencing didn’t quite have the features I wanted plus I’d didn’t love the color. But the AG checks every box and has nothing extra that I don’t want! I haven’t seen the AG color in person but in theory anyway I really love it. It looks great in pictures and I’m trusting it’ll look good in real life too Lol

Now we’ll see which shows up first, the red that’s stuck in Baja or the green that’s theoretically arriving in September.

The white has a tendency to flake off. Do a quick search. My family members super white 2018 4runner has already started

That said I’m satisfied with my super white off-road.

 

Wind Chill Pearl seems to be fixed, if you have to get white, try to get that, it won't peel

 

I would’ve been happy with either. That being said, I’m soooooooooo glad I got red. It’s the best.

My vote is for white. I know some have issues with white Toyota paint but my 09 Super White Taco and 17 Blizzard Pearl both are just fine. The Taco has a couple rock chips in the paint on the front of the hood it other than that the paint is just fine.

 

I say take the bird in hand and have it wrapped in whatever color suits your fancy

 

Wait for the color you want, though that's easier said than done. I wanted a specific (harder to find) option so I was willing to accept a few colors, I still wouldn't have bought a color not on that list though.

 

Wait for the Red. If you get a white one and the paint starts peeling you will regret it. Always stick with what you want on big purchases.

 

You want to be excited about it. Get red or whatever flavor you like the best.

 

Man that Red is nice. Is that a long bed? Red and Lunar Rock were my top choices, with Grey and Silver being acceptable too. Just don’t know if I can go for a white truck. Like you said, for these big purchases… I want it to be something I *love*. So leaning toward waiting on the Red. I did just find out there’s a Lunar Rock available so I’m looking into that possibility.

 

That’s a long bed. Shorties look like the attached pic at the cab-to-bed transition. Red looks so good even if it’s filthy and scratched up. I’m biased.

 

Yeah its a long bed. As someone stated above its a sports car color but looks really good on the Tacoma. I also like the Lunar Rock but Lunar Rock is hard to get around here.

 

I have a white 4runner as well. No issues so far *knock on wood* with paint on either of them. White paint is my first choice then mgm.
