Looks real good and different, but it'll look plain on your ride with no contrast... Unless that doesn't bother you. Great job nonetheless!

Is the procedure to get them apart about the same as a headlight mod??

That was kind of what I was going for. Something subtle and black taillights (to me) are played out. I say that and I have black wheels on my truck .

    No

    ^This^

You have to cut about 1/4 inch between the housing and lens with a thin cut off wheel on a dremel. I actually only broke one wheel while cutting so it is pretty easy just time consuming. But with stitches in my hand I've got plenty of time right now.

No not with the 13. On the 11 there was so much more bezel to work with it looked good blacked out. The 13 there isn't nearly as much bezel so really IMO it isn't worth the time and effort to take them apart. If I was going to retro them I would paint them (maybe even white) but I'm running LED's in them now so I'm pretty happy with them at the moment. That may change over time though ;)

Did buy a color matched grill and replaced the ugly chrome one that came with the truck

Look into getting some LEDs for the turn bulbs. They'll be white or clear of you get the right ones, but still be amber when on. I'm not a fan of white signals. Other than that it looks good OP.

If I was going to retro them I would definitely do what you did. That looks really nice. I love that front bumper btw.

How much are you asking for the rear bumper?

I think Jumper might be able to hook you up.

I don't believe you can have white turn signals in the rear anyway.

I have a high clearance rear bumper now. So the stock bumper won't do me any good.

White headlights might be for sale also lol

I think you'll be alright as far as the police go. Some people have blacked out tail lights that you can barely see their tail lights shine through, and they don't get ticketed. You're not even covering the red LEDs.

Anyway, it looks really good! I want to do the same thing, but with black instead of white.
