The Government classifies the Ridgeline as a truck, and I have no problem with that. They don't always get everything right, and I wouldn't classify a RL as a truck. It's more of a multipurpose vehicle or SUV, that is primarily designed to haul passengers, and subsequently can be used to haul cargo in it's open bed.

I would also say that the atched box, can be atached to the frame, but not atached to the cab. For a vehicle to be classified as a truck.

I also think the more apropos classification for a four door pickup, with a short cargo box. Even though that cargo box is not atached to the cab. Sould be a SUV, or multipurpose vehicle as it is designed to carry passengers 1st and cargo 2nd. Due to the cab proportions being greater than the cargo area.

2019 TRD OR, long bed , leer camper shell, 2 inch lift, was getting 15 mph. 275/70/17 BFG A/T.
Added rock sliders, gas tank skid plates, rear end diff skid plates ,lower control arm skids, tranfer, transmission skid plates, tailgate hitch skid plate by Supreme Suspension. Roof rack w/ Ski rack. And pod/ditch lights.
Live on a farm , every day in 4- wheel drive, I now averaging 10 mpg. Sometimes less.
I fill up at Costco $5.19 ,20 minutes drive one way.

Worst is I gain 10 lbs. truck is way heavier now because of driver?

Thank you for sharing your actual gas mileage. Some of you mentioned about the same as what I am getting.
This makes me feel a little bit better , knowing I am not the only one getting those low mpg , numbers.

I saw a YouTuber with the 2017 Colorado Z-R2, diesel 26-30+ mpg. The manufacturers said 22 mpg average. The owner mention not once he every gone that low to 22 mpg.

Lol listen to yourself... The government classifies it, the legal definition classifies it, your peers classifies it, but you don't. Hmmm, you must be right lol.
And there is no legal definition of cab vs bed proportions lol.
    Give up yet?

Honestly, with its turbo diesel this ‘truck’ is way more ‘truck’ than any Tacoma. Thinking about getting one and putting it on 35”s. Listen to that engine note!

1957 International Harvester Travelette. Definitely an SUV. Not a pick up. (The first crewcab pick up errr SUV in production)

I know I have a truck, because here in Beautiful British Columbia, with a truck I get truck plates. 2 letters, a space and 4 numbers. Passenger vehicles get 3 space 3 letter number combo. I will have to pay attention to what plates a Ridgeline has. Can't say I have noticed.

Regardless, if its a Cruck, SUuck, CUuck or a Truck... they all serve the purpose of hauling stuff you most likely wouldn't (reasonably) put into an inclosed automobile.

Stay on topic, we're not talking about shitty gas mileage anymore. This topic is why only pickups can be called trucks but somehow car based pickups are not.

Hate it when a guy that starts a shitpost thread then bends over backwards to keep it on the original topic when shitposts lead it elsewhere.

This thread trends towards shitpost for sure, but I’m honestly curious how badly people can sewer their mileage, and the reasons why they are OK with it.

Like, if you wanna run 35”s and a full camper you gotta pay for it in gas. I’m interested what people are willing to put up with.

Yeah I've been wondering the same thing myself. How long before rooftop tents and all that other overlanding crap is removed to improve mileage.
