Yotas are very capable off road! If I wanted a road friendly vehicle, I would have bought a car. I bought this truck to hunt/fish, haul wood/gravel and to wheel on the weekends.

Yeah I understand what your saying and I agree but it’s all how you look at it and what the person buying it thinks is valuable. At the end of the day it’s about you being happy with your choice anyway all the rest of this doesn’t really matter. I do like the 3rd gen there are a few cons but it’s that way with any truck and you can’t really compare the Tacoma to a Diesel jeep gladiator they are way to different but if Toyota build a Tacoma that was comparable all the same features straight axle I can all but guarantee the final price would be a shit pot more then the gladiator. The whole market is that way though. It’s the used market that I find most outrageous. They are still a great truck I just think the “TACOMA” sticker they put on it has gotten a bit more expensive then it’s actually worth.

Interesting that the poll shows 90% feel the Taco is good or very good. I'm in the "good" camp. For me it's a decent work truck as well as dump runs, hardware, hauling miscellaneous shit. Hard on gas compared to the wife's RAV 4. I had a 2006 Gen 2 and liked that too. Have another one on order as the days of the manual transmission appear to be numbered so that says something.

I painted it and destroyed it lol. I have a RCI skid now. It’s also a little more beat up.

Don't know that a strait axle is more expensive then IFS, that's the only real difference in features between them. The gladiator doesn't even come with a rear locker like the offroad does. That and the gladiator looks like ass. Mechanically the strait axle is simpler and most likely easier to produce but has way more raw materials, and Toyotas clamshell design for the front diff is pretty hard to make given that you need two castings. I'm gonna say its a wash on the price front. The draw of the IFS I think is the better road manners, not cheaper to make. As far as paying more because it says Tacoma on the side, Jeep has been doing that for decades.

Man that thing looked pretty good, you should paint the rci skid like that. I have a TRD skid that painted fire engine red on my superwhite.

I thought about painting it heritage colors once the powder coating gets really bad.The red looks really cool. Especially if you have full skids

Ya for like 20k more, I was referencing the gladiators closer to the Offroads price point. Could easily get a front locker for the price difference between an mojave and a rubi. Stop fanboying with your blind loyalty to jeep.

Oh absolutely. All the manufacturers are doing it. The price of new cars is out of control and it’s not just Toyota.
