Oh, I picked up what you were putting down. lol

It's my first New Toyota and truck at the same time.

Coming from an SUV ('03 Honda Pilot EX), I wasn't expecting a fast accelerating vehicle.

I also wasn't expecting the MPGs of a 2.0 Liter engine (exaggeration I now but it fits well in describing TW). lol

And yes, people will find fault in everything...and that's a sad thing.

    Really no more Subarus.
If I didn’t have my Tacomas I’d probably be in a Subaru.
Wife loves hers and they have been solid cars. Her foresters have had lots of room, they are great in the snow and not much has gone wrong with them.

Subarus are good but I like the truck more. Had a Toyota back in the 90's then went to a Outback then a Forester. If the Sport is junk then maybe I'll go back to a Forester....

Man you sure are making this a mountain out of molehill. It's not even in the same realm of boat ownership to owning a tacoma. Trust me, I just boat a new boat last year, and have had three taco's. Two 2nd gen's, and a 3rd gen. All have been rock solid, and the only reason I sold my 17 was to get into a 4R. Fast forward almost 6yrs, and I am close to picking up a used 21 Pro to go along with my 4R. I thought about getting a Tundra, or a F150, but I keep coming back to the tacoma. Even with some of it's flaws(what truck or car doesn't) it's what I want in my garage. Like was mentioned get your tacoma, and if you hate it sell it and move on. Don't let this forum sway you away from picking up your new truck. It's a very small sample size to say the least.

Maybe you should watch this video....

I’m OK with the ride quality, the wife doesn’t like it very much.

I wish there was a short cab like on the second generation so the overall length of the truck was shorter than the current access cab.

The fit and finish is inferior to my Japanese made Toyotas, but I guess I’m going to have to live with it.

    LOL!

I know my sarcasm tends to go over like a Chinese spy balloon…

Recently pulled my 1st Gen out of storage after sitting for about a year and half. Been driving them back to back. The 3rd is better in so many ways. More power, better mileage, rides smoother, more interior space, love the AC clamshell doors. Toyota trucks have evolved nicely, albeit slowly…and that is ok.

I’m pretty smitten with mine I got to admit!
I can not walk away without looking at her. I park where I can see it, I have my spot at work as far out as possible and no one parks by me.
The wife says it’s the dog the truck then her?
I tell her it’s the whole toilet seat thing!!!

Don’t know about your dealer, when I bought mine it was made clear that the deposit was non-refundable. Had to sign a paper acknowledging it. Keeps people from backing out or going to a different dealer. With inventory being so scarce, can see why they do it.

We recently went in to buy my wife a Corolla Cross, none on the lot. The deposit to hold an incoming one was also non-refundable.

Would take what you read on here about the issues with a grain of salt. Really don’t know about how one feels about a vehicle or how reliable it will be until driving it for some time. Or maybe you’re just getting cold feet spending that kind of cash. I know I did, my wife worked on me for years to buy a new truck. Should have listened to her the first time.

LOL! 20 years of band-aiding the old truck along, when do I decide to buy? Height of the pandemic.

Those wimmin tend to be right, just don’t tell ‘em that. :D

    I like my third gen.
Would not mind a Land Cruiser though but that’s not the Tacoma fault.

The most uncomfortable driver seat I've ever sat in, in any vehicle I've ever driven. Besides that, I can look past any other issues...still love my Yoda.
