Who actually uses their V6 Tacoma as the truck it's supposed to be?

I've hauled an approx. 3000 trailer a few times.
It does a great job of hauling my 26 lb bicycle too.

nice! hey you guys that get snow, i would assume that can be done all winter then. Here in Hawaii we got to use those things called coolers. Don't want to drink a 80 degree beer in December.

I like that trailer set up man!!:D
I was thinking of going with a military 3/4 ton trailer, (restoring it somewhat) painting it to match the truck and add the same wheels and tires.
Don't have a ATV but I like the way yours looks.....

I just downsized from a Ford F250 V-10 to a very nice Tacoma TRD Off Road with V6 trailer package. I already hauled a few thousand pounds of ATVs and am regularly hauling all sorts of construction materials while working on a few apartment houses. I'm also going to put a small snowplow on it (Sno-Way 6'8"). It is going to work like a truck.

My buddies boat got impounded the other day while he was at work. He called me asking if i could tow it back to his house for him and I was looking for a reason to tow something besides my tools for once. Towed his 30ft boat like it was nothing. The point of the story is that its nice to know you have the ability to tow whatever you want even if you dont know what it is going to be.

I tow a bass boat with mine 9 months of the year. That's the reason I bought a truck so I could pull my boat. I love the V6 and don't feel like the 4 would be enough power to get out of the steep ramps I use on rivers easily...... the boat would come out but the stress on the motor would kill it's life short I'm sure...

Does hauling wine count? I buy 15 to 20 cases of wine during our wine sales thta other people pay for and then I deliver it for them. Its through our company buying program. Not to bad we get it under cost that cant be sold in stores.:D

I drive it as intended. To work and back and picking up god knows what from Home Depot.

Towing with it? I would imagine this thing would be popping wheelies if I put a 5th wheel on it.

If I bought a truck with towing as the top priority I would have gotten a Tundra. I wanted mid size For MPG, smaller size to get through tight spots, yet keep all the versitility. If they made a new new Tacoma that was the size of the 1st gen, I would probably get one of thoughs. I just don't need to be able to pull around 6500lbs. As long as I can fit my bike, kegs, camping crap, and help the ocasional room mate move furniture, and still look shit hot, Im happy. I really think the purpose of a truck, or any vehical is up to the owner. Well, then again Im going to eat my own words and slam on the people with Hummers that never leave the pavement. H2?...What a joke.

Have you seen what actually happens when an H2 leave asphalt?

I agree with you on towing if it were a top priority. I've done a bit of it because I can, and I knew I would want to be able to without having to buy, rent or borrow another truck. It's nice to know I can fit down tight off road trails, in parking garages, every place else a smaller truck is easier to get, AND still tow all I'll need to.

I go wheeling, trips to the dump, help friends move :( and Ive only towed with the thing once, other than that the hitch is used to get stuck trucks out (rangers)

+1. i just didnt want such a beast of a truck(Tundra) but constantly have some things that need to be hauled for both work and hobby. The Tacoma was just big enough for me, but still fits on trails and is easier to drive/park in cities. Thats why it found its way into my garage.
