I'm just curious to know when buying rims and tires, how many ppl purchase 5 of each instead of 4?

For a few more bucks at least i could run a decent spare, rotate it with the other 4 and have a nice rim if i ever needed to use it.

Is this worth the extra cost? Maybe buy just 4 rims and 5 tires? I dunno myself, i wanna see what everyone else thinks before i purchase.

(also, i assume that an aftermarket rim will fit where the spare is considering its the same bolt pattern, etc.?)

Mainly the off roaders are buying 5, or some even 6 wheel and tire combos. I bought 4, but am looking at getting another one for a tire gate.

When I have the cash to change my wheels/tires, i'll try and get 5 so I have a matching spare.

It's definitely a good idea to. I personally only bought 4 new tires, which could potentially be bad, because they're larger than my spare tire, but some people can't afford that last tire or that last rim sometimes. I plan on buying a full size spare though in the very near future

I figured guys were running more than just 4 tires and rims. Especially when dealing with different tire sizes from the spare.

Myself? I just ordered 4 rims and will place an order for 5 tires tomorrow morning. Good to have the same size tire on the spare if (and a matter of when) i need it.

My only problem with that is, i won't be able to rotate the spare with the remaining 4 because of the different rim (on the spare) so i'll pretty much have a brand new tire that will only get used in an emergency. That's why i'm leaning towards buying the 5th rim.

It should fit where the spare goes tho right?
