I agree with the issue of stuff sliding up under the front. U can't push it down to retract it so u gotta climb in it have a long stick to get it out of the way. Other than that, it was a good, solid cover,.

Sounds like the Peragon would work fine for you but so would many others. It's your money, pick the one you want and enjoy!

I went with the Peragon and like it. I did a lot of reading and looking at other set ups before deciding which tonneau to go with and the Peragon suited my needs the best and like you said they have frequent sales. I got the Limited HD with rugged matte finish and the tailgate seal kit and paid $1229. My reasons for choosing the Peragon: I wanted lockable storage, ability to use the full length of the bed without much hassle, compatibility with bed rack setups for hauling canoes/kayaks, ability to retract the cover for access to things in the bed while canoes/kayaks are on top.

It checked all those boxes and I’ve been happy with it for the most part. There are a few drawbacks to it though, a few have already been mentioned. If you have the cover closed and things shift to the front of the bed you can’t open it, you’ll need to slide those things back so you can push down in the spot to open the cover. It’s not as waterproof as some other brands. Some water will get in especially in the rear corners and in my case where the billiebars brackets prevent the seal from sitting on the top of the bedside.

Both of these issues are things I’ve either decided I can live with or have found solutions for. To prevent things from sliding forward and preventing opening of the cover I either place a cargo bar in the front of the bed to prevent things from sliding into the area the cover needs to open, or when I have the bed completely full (like longer camping trips) I put a piece of wood at the front of the bed with a length of webbing strap or paracord tied to it that I run to the d rings by the tailgate. I unload the first foot or so of the bed, then pull on the cord to slide things towards the rear of the bed enough to open the cover and unload the rest. As for some water getting in, I just don’t put things in the corners where I know water leaks. If I’m really wanting to keep something dry it goes in the rear seat or in a waterproof tote. I never expected it to keep it bone dry in the bed and it might be better with the tailgate seal kit installed. I never installed the seal kit, the water never bothered me enough to do it plus I worried I’d shred those rubber gasket pieces loading things in and out of the bed.

Feel free to ask any other questions you might have or for more pics. I’m attaching a few.

Check Diamondback’s outlet store as a lot of covers pop up and no wait times. Plus you will save a bit of money. I’ve had my Diamondback cover for almost 3 years now and been very happy with it. Takes maybe 10 minutes to get off if I need to load tall object. Or I just through it on top of the cover and strap it down. It’s been a really nice cover and super secure. I do like their new switchback cover, it seems to give all the benefits of the diamondback without having to remove it for other items

My company truck has a bakflip mx4, I hate it because it’s too easy to break into with a coat hanger, it leaks enough and the way it opens blocking the entire rear window and hits the cab.

Since it’s not my truck I was looking for a quick security fix and this works ok.

I’d like to get a soft roll up for my taco but don’t want to lose my bed rail mounts (hi-lift & shove).

Diamondback seem to be the most secure. I have the Bakflip and its feels cheap. I like the function of it and the added locked storage although I wouldn’t trust too much in the back as it would pretty easy to get in there. It works fore me though and Easley to take off.

Another option is Lomax. I can’t speak to it but I like the look and they are a low profile.
