My old 05 did that I bought a URD TOB sleeve and that totally fixed the problem.

Ran a factory TOB on the first two clutches until the 2nd clutch disintegrated and took out the TOB scarring the aluminum quill. The factory bearing chirped so bad that I would have to turn the truck off to order in drive-thurs. Then I did the precision TOB AND sleeve. Its thefront same thing as URD's.

How long you been running that setup? Heard a couple guys with the sleeve, saying the noise came back.

About 3 1/2 years. I have heard a very faint chirp from time to time on cold mornings this past winter. With the warmer summer mornings I have not notice any chirping. I believe I said my TOB and sleeve were from precision, it actually is PMD.

Bought with 233,000 a couple years ago. Just regular maintenance and it runs like new all day long.

There was a fellow on this site with something close to 650K as far as I know it's still going after he gave it to his son.

I'm convinced you just can beat them for reliability. I've had 4 second gens and one third gen. All great trucks but this one has been my favorite. Any problems are usually small and easy fixes.

My salesman said the motor was a 500,000 mile motor, when I bought my 06 New. Maybe he is right, I am at 180,000 right now, havn't been much of anywhere for 3 months!!

Mines about to hit 300k and I'm very pleased to see all these 2nd gens over 300k doing well. Other than normal wear items I've been extremely happy with them truck. Finally having to replace the ac compressor after all this time purchased my truck used in 2007 with 22k on the odo.

I'm just over 300k on my '05. I've done head gaskets and front wheel bearings. Next is rear brakes, cause I've never touched em.

What mileage did your gaskets go out at? Do you mind me asking how much did it cost you when you had them done? I sold my 05 with 187,000 strictly because I was afraid of the heads and kinda wish I would of kept it.

It was right about the 290-300k mark, and I had a family friend do the work, so it was cheap. Should be about $1500-2000 from what I've seen

2008 with 252000km I just painted the truck so I anticipate another 250k at least
