I bought an Icon Stage 1 kit and I'm on the fence whether to DIY or have it done. Does anyone know a shop that would do it? I got one quote for over $800 to install which seems excessive. I'm near Boulder/Longmont.

That $800 quote was for John's 4x4, wasn't it? If so, they'll charge an additional $90 for alignment. I'm not paying $900. I've also been trying to find a place because I don't have the space or tools to do it myself. Charley's quoted me five hours labor at $500 and $85 alignment. Phil at Smooth Ride in Northglen quoted me $545 for the install plus alignment. Charley's works almost exclusively on Toyotas but I have no gauge for their track record with lifts. Phil is next door to Toytec who recommends him for their lifts. You may not have purchased a Toytec lift, but I'd expect them to recommend a shop that does decent work.

Let me know what you find and how it works out.

$800 for John's is correct, but it did include the alignment. I did buy my kit at Toytec and they recommended Phil but he was close to $800 with alignment as well.

Easy to install yourself. Buy the tools to do it and have lots of cash left over.

Yeah, I just have to nut up and do it. Home Despot rents kerosene heaters which solves that problem. I have the tools and can borrow jack stands and a floor lift. Couple buddies said they'd help. It would be at least $500 from anywhere.

I'm starting to get the impression these shops are making up quotes on the fly. I called Phil again yesterday and he quoted me $432 for a standard lift install including alignment; $88 extra if you're replacing UCAs.

Did Toytec give you any kind of deal on that stage 1?
