I was a Geico person for about 8 years for cars and bikes. Rates slowly crept up annually despite no incidents, began shopping last year and check with Progressive for my motorcycle first, wow. Went from $980 year to $470 paid in full for my bmw s1000rr 2016. Had this bike for 3 years, and had an older one prior so it wasn't jumping from a cruiser to a crotch rocket. Switched same day if i recall. Switched earlier this month on my car insurance for the Tacoma and my leased Honda Accord, saved me about $140/every 6 months.

Geico is great and if my rates hike, i'll go back, but having zero accidents and tickets in 14 years Insurance is strictly there to be insurance..

USAA has went to shit the last few years for insurance. I've noticed they started giving higher quotes than most others

We have USAA, and have for thirty years, about 5 years ago they stopped doing Motorcycle stuff, re branded it from Progressive. I call them on it, they told me MC was too risky any more but they would be the middle man to other coverage. At that time I call all around, and landed with Allstate for my bikes. as cheap as USAA and still a good company.

This. When I picked up my bike in October I got a quote through Progressive (via USAA) for $6400 a year. WTF?!?!

Checked geico and was quoted $3800 a year.

Ended up with Farmers for $800 a year. Liberty mutual was close too, $790 a year for them.

Crazy prices. USAA through Progressive is a bit under $700/year for full coverage and low deductible on my 750GS. Geico was about $800 or so.

Insurance rates are "filed" there may is a specific filed discount for home and auto this age this sex this zip code that motorcycle this many tickets, but the price is set for each company, the coverage is not set and that of course affects the price. I have 250/500/100 that uninsured/bodily injury property damage. I do not have any comprehensive coverage and my rate is $369 a year with American National on a 2008 Kawasaki KLR ( the Tacoma of motorcycles) and a 2001 Moto Guzzi Jackal. This is the same coverage as my cars but I do have comp on them.

Been wanting to get a motorcycle . Had one back on 06 that wasn’t “legal”. Decided to run a few quotes. I currently have Liberty Mutual (my cousin works for them, previously had Geico for several years) they wouldn’t give me a online quote. Geico wanted 145 a month, and Dairyland wanted about 200 a month. This was all based off a 2020 Yamaha R6. Now I know why I stopped looking at bikes a while ago lol.

Progressive covers the 3 bikes I currently own. Had State Farm for years until my ex g/f had an accident with her bike and the experience was nothing short of miserable. She had State Farm as well and when the time came for her claim we learned that State Farm really only wrote mc coverage as a "courtesy" to their auto policy holders. They didn't even have mc adjusters to come look at the damaged bike. Same applied to their RV and boat policies. Their rates were fair but when it came time to pay out they were painful to deal with and to this day I feel screwed her. This is in PA so your experience may vary but if using State Farm you might want to ask some questions just to make sure you're getting what you pay for.

I use culver insurance group. Heard they have bad customer service if something happens (takes a long time to receive any money. Speaking to somebody with updates), but my bike is only worth at tops 4k and i can live without my bike. Cant beat the 120 dollar per year full coverage.

Keep in mind though my current bike is a 250 but i think for my 2007 r6 i was paying 500 for the year with full coverage back in 2008.
