That's a tricky one to answer. Nobody touches her until I pull a Krazy Serge and get in over my head.

Your talking to a guy who took his truck home right after it rolled off the delivery truck with all the plastic protective stuff all over it.. Did not even let the detail crew touch the truck...

Not enough choices. I do most work but what I can't is done by local shop.

 

I do all my work, except when insurance paid for hail damage.

 

I do most of the work. Lift, gear oil, greasing chassis, brakes. But oil changes I haven't done myself in a while. Seems easier to pay $25 I'm going to tackle the auto tranny fluid change when I get back home.

 

Same, til I get an alignment machine and tire changer n wheel balancer in my garage. I give ya a call when I do so you can do it all yourself.

I'll do oil changed and small stuff, and if I need assistance my dad is a pretty handy mechanic I also have some good friends that help when needed. But when my front diff blew I took it in to toyota cause its under warranty. If its preventative, I'll cover it. If its failure I'll let toyota deal with it lol.

 

i’m going to try and do everything i can my self if i cant i’ll have someone els. like the dealer. i just now need oil. i got it in may with 24’965 and i now have 29’97*

 

You guys every get nervous about maybe not catching something? Like forgetting to check a part on your truck or whatever

i wish i could do more maintenance work on my truck myself but there is a lack of space and proper equipment for me so i use a toyota/lexus specialty shop down the street from my house

 

If you don't know what you're doing, then you should either have a buddy help you who does, or take it to a reputable shop. For routine maintenance, I don't worry about missing things. If I'm doing an oil change and a 'once over' I'm most likely more observant with my own vehicle than a guy who's just focused on doing an oil change as fast as possible. I'm more apt to catch heat shields coming lose, oil leaking out of a seal where it wasn't before, etc. Doing your own maintenance is a great way to learn your vehicle.
