I do. Always have and always will. Any car or truck Ive owned I always changed my own oil in addition to other things. If I can do something myself I will.

I have always changed my own. I consider it bonding time with my buddy.
(not sure what I'll do when it comes time for my first Toyota Care Service)

Heck, you wipe your own butt don't you? Why would you trust that or oil changes to someone else, as long as you are able to do it for yourself?

Wow. Reading this thread I found out I'm lazy and stupid. Good for future reference, I'll log that away.

I just figured the dealership charges too much and I'm not going outside when it's 6 below to change my oil. I've never had any trouble with JiffyLube et al. Taken my car there for years. Took my Tacoma to the dealership for a while, then the ToyotaCare expired and there's no dealership within 100 miles of me. So... Jiffy Lube is warm, and not terribly expensive, and they've never screwed it up so bad that I've noticed. My friends I allowed to "fix" my car have done seriously worse, I'm happy to pay someone.

I have the free oil changes for life, and my Dealer is rarely busy, so they do it. I have the shop but its a free service for life so why not. I've changed enough oil and filters to not want to crawl under the rig anymore.

for 35$, it's a no brainer for me...i'd rather pay my mecanic than having to take the time to do it and finding a place to return my old oil...

So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
The dealer. Cost is not bad and tire rotation at the same time. I may go back to doing my own as I have with all past vehicles but for now the dealer.

Right now I'm just having the dealership take care of the oil changes, as its included in the maintenance. I also like having it documented in their computer, which is viewable online, that the oil changes are occuring at the proper intervals.

I will say taking to have it done is very inefficient though. I showed up at 10am on a Monday and I wasn't out of there until 12pm...two hours?? The dealer has a nice, luxury-type waiting area but I have better things to do. They don't even have a barrel of Mobil1 5w-30, so you have to bring your own. The only benefits I see is Toyota tracked maintenance record and not having to temporarily store then later dispose of the old oil.
