Figure, 15 minutes to drive to the dealership. At least an hour wait even with an appointment and then 15 minutes back home so figure an hour and a half, more like 2 hours really.
I change it myself, 30 minutes tops, finished, cleaned up on to next project. I drop the oil and filter off at the local transfer station on one of my weekly visits so it's no big deal for me.
Once my free oil changes ran out I started doing my own, as I always did and still do with my other vehicles. Not to take anything from dealerships, in fact I'm pretty happy with mine, but they just don't care as much about my truck as I do.
I do enjoy the entertainment at the Jiffylube places though. Watching the service writers come out and tell the lady that brought the mini van in that she needs a new fratastat because her bumper is leaking and it'll cost her $7000! Then panic sets in! Actually I feel bad for them, even seen them come to tears.

    Some stuff...
I do all my vehicles myself - the way I see it, no one else is going to take as good of care of my vehicles as me (have had a few bad experiences).

I do my own on both of our vehicles. Saves money and don't have to worry about somebody stripping out your drain plug, overfilling oil, etc.

When I bought my truck used from a Toyota dealer the oil level on the dipstick was about 1 quart over the mark. Since it came with a I didn't mess with it. When I changed it and put in 6 quarts it was about 1 quart over the mark. Seems the dipstick is wrong (2009 4.7L 4 cyl).

    Not really.

You pay for that oil change every month.

I would have settled for a box of 20 filters.
