The Tacoma does have some things on a relief relay but not everything.Todays batteries are light years beyond old ones. I started driving at 16 that was 57 years ago I never turned anything off unless it was something like lights, of course they really wasn't much back then that stayed on. Old habits are hard to break so for the last 57 years I never turned anything off and "gasp" once the oil light is out I'm out of the barn and down the road. My last 2 Tacomas had 300 K on them so I guess it's ok.

I think the HVAC is on a relief relay so that turns off when it's cranking I'll have to try it on mine the AC is on, on defrost also so I'm pretty sure it's off when cranking

SSO hybrid bumper, Warn winch, RCI skid trilogy, RRW sliders, everything in the cheap/free mods thread, and of course the frame recall work.
Everything is turned off in sequence before I shut off the truck: moonroof closed, front windows closed, rear windows closed, radio, heated seats, climate, ESC, wireless charger, lights, ignition. I follow the same sequence so that I don't ever forget one of them, plus it's kind of fun.

Well, if you live somewhere cold and have a remote start. Damn well make sure the heater, seat heat and blower is all ON before you start it. Otherwise youve got a frosty windshield and a cold ass for the first 20 minutes of your commute.

Wow, another anal retentive kindred spirit. It is a comfort to know that I am not the only one that does this.

Unless you have a half-dead battery, what's the point?

I have got to ask a lead acid battery generally lasts 4-5 years if you turn everything off will it last 5 years 6 months? Trust me when I tell you a vehicle has no feelings.

I'm requesting membership into this relatively small club of yours. I do the same thing. Everything must be off before shutting off the vehicle. I've done that for as long as I can remember.

I just feel like if I can reduce load...it has to be easier on the motor on start up?

Battery maybe motor does not care the starters are designed to use lower voltage that the battery can produce for good reason.

Dude no offense to you, but this is crazy. That's like removing the shoe laces before putting a shoe on and then putting the laces back on the shoe...
