Who else has everything turned off before starting the truck?

I turn the music down, or else I scare the shit outta myself when I start up the Taco!

 

that's bs...the "extra load" on the engine is pretty much nil. This sounds like a holdover wives tale from the model T days

 

Funny. Similar here, but because I grew up on a farm in a tiny town.

Weirdest part was waving to the sherriff when took the truck to the pipe supply for my dad at age 12 or so.
