I wish the original owner of my truck did the recalls. By the time I got the truck it was out of warranty and needed a few things fixed that could have been free. My trailgate bent, my cats/manifolds went bad and I had to add a leaf to the rear suspension.

The only recall mine has had is the tire pressure sticker thing, which didn't matter anyway since it didn't have TRD wheels or tires on it. Haven't gotten around to sending the thing back to them that says mine is already correct and to remove it from the recall.

I had 2 Recalls for my 2010. Looked it up on the site with VIN. Gas pedal trimming. NOPE. I have Weather techs. No need for that. Leaf Spring recall also. NOPE. Already changed those out. ALL GOOD : )

Nope. I just have the VSC recall. My dealer has never been easy to deal with, so I'm waiting til something more serious comes up.

I haven't either. My VIN reveals 4 recalls, and 1 service campaign.

Gas Pedal: My gas pedal is no where near the floor mats. I've had both the cloth and the all weather mats.

Seat Belt Tensioners: I'm pretty sure I can buy loctite, and tighten my seat belt bolts myself.

TPMS: I no longer have the TPMS sensors in my wheels, and don't need them to tell me I have low pressure.

Rear Suspension: I should hopefully be replacing my leafpacks soon, so I'm not worried about those.

Frame: I'm sure eventually I will get my frame replaced. Since I won't/can't do that one myself, I will have Toyota do it. And hopefully they won't attempt to do the other recalls without my permission.

The spiral cable, valve springs, driveshaft, tailgate, and ABS issues aren't listed under my VIN. I also never received a yellow sticker.

Recalls are for safety related issues and should not be ignored.

The spiral cable will fail. It isn't a matter of if but a matter of when and it isn't a super cheap fix. I would get it done for free.

I had the gas pedal recall done a while ago and never had a problem before it was done. Was at the dealer today and wanted to get a full size gas pedal to replace the castrated one and the service manager said that the only one available from Toyota was a short one. I guess I'll have to scour the junk yards to find a full size one. It doesn't really bother me with my size 12 shoes, but my wife seems to have a problem with her size 8 shoes.

I believe all those are TSBs and not recalls. There is a diff.

"The Seat Belt Assemblies for the driver and front passenger are mounted inside the access (rear) doors of the vehicle. On the assemblies, screws holding the Seat Belt pre-tensioners to the Seat Belt Retractor can become loose over time and through forceful repeated closing of the access door. If these screws loosen completely, the Seat Belt pre-tensioner and Retractor Spring Cover could detach, increasing the risk of injury to an occupant in the event of a severe crash."

So I can't tighten these screws they speak of?

I don't hear anything rattling inside the doors. :notsure: Also, might be a combination of I don't trust anyone to work on my truck, and that I can't do something (hopefully) simple by myself. Then again, I've been finding loose bolts here and there since I've bought it. :(

I was going to make a new thread, but I'll just post it here. I have received about 4 recall notices, and haven't done any either. I will take the truck in for the Spiral Cable, but other than that I don't want the dealer to touch my truck. How do I let them know this?

Well I suppose you could simply tell them that you want A, but not B, C; D.

How many are safety related? If these recalls fall into that category, they may ignore your request and do them anyway.

Guess you'll find out when you take your truck in.

I think all recalls are considered safety related, so I think you're right. They are going to them anyway, I need to find a way to tell them not to.

I haven't had any done on my 2011. Last time I was at Toyota, they told me there was one on the wheels but I've got aftermarket wheels. But I did have to get my rear diff rebuilt and I've already replaced one cv axle. I'd say lifting my truck was the worst thing I could have done.

"Just found out that there are 7 recalls for my recently purchased 2011 Tacoma, I wonder if the dealership will warrant performing these since I am not the original owner and the truck is older..."

They have to perform the recalls regardless of who owns it now.
