    i felt it in harrisonburg virginia and my friends in northern maryland and philadelphia felt it! what a great way to start freshman year at college right?! haha

    the thing im thinking is if it did any damage to the nuclear power plant at lake anna because i believe the epicenter was within a few miles of it.

    That's because you are on a hot spot, and all the lava moves the rocks around as it's making its way out of the volcano :thumbsup:

    Very different from what happened in VA.

    Correct but that does not mean it is a plate boundary. A fault is simply a surface where rock on one side is displaced in relation to the other side. The earthquake no doubt occurred on a fault, but I would argue it has nothing to do with global plate tectonics.

    Felt it outside of Bumpass, VA . . . my house is about 5 miles from the epicenter. No damage, didn't have power between 1:50 p.m. and ~5:00 p.m.. Yes, I live in a place called Bumpass
