Who gets tired of hearing that the TRD Sport 4x4 isn't off road capable? It's a Toyota truck!!

Technically a Subaru is capable but you won’t see much of an argument for it. At the end of the day, the factor is typically the locker for which there is no substitute.

 

He bought a sport ... to off road ?

 

Sport, plus ARB lockers, Kings, 35's, sounds good to me.

 

SR5, plus ARB lockers, Kings, 35's, sounds good to me.

 

SR, plus... you get the idea, they're really all the same but for the trim package.

I own the Sport. Buy a Ridgeline if this concern is keeping you from your sleep.

Lol if that's what you discern from my comment... Okay? Weird perspective. I wouldn't consider what I have old, or even really Toyota anymore.

However, I do look at Instagram...Where undoubtedly, the third gen folks go hard in the paint. It's just what a large subsection of your community does. Doesn't make anyone better or worse, just different.

Last time I checked, it's fun to joke around with people for differences.

But, just roll with the "my free old Tacoma cut in half makes me a better person" argument.

 

If you listen to OR owners a truck only has one use, off-roading or bust.

 

Maybe I should change my wheels , bed stickers and lose the scoop to try to fit in around here . The shame I live with in TW for owning a Sport . Its like AA just take it one day at a time .

Don’t know anyone who says my TRD sport access cab V6 Manual 6 speed can’t use it off road even my 93 Toyota truck 4x4 manual 5 speed with locking hubs was a blast to drive in the mud off roading fishing camping so even more with a 2020 Toyota it’s more about jealousy when people make comments to make them selfs feel better that they didn’t get one in the first place because they never use the off road Feature anyways & ours looks Better out there on the trails.

 

There is possibly one thing that a SR or a SR5 doesn't have from the factory that a OR does and that is a rear e locker.

Add it to a SR or SR5 and it is the same truck.

Or do what I am doing and many others have did and add a Front and Rear Air locker and it's even MORE capable.

I am adding a rear air locker this weekend. Front Next Month.

TRD Offroad owners feeling all high & mighty in their pickup truck while offroading, trying to engage a locker they never use, after the grinding of Curb Control made them nervous, when suddenly a Jeep creeps by them waving and smiling...
