You can get an ARB rear air locker for $1000 plus about $750 for install, the compressor most can do themselves. I'd suggest waiting until 60k powertrain to mess with your rear diff for obvious reasons. Or, if you're really courageous you could swap in an OR rear diff with electric factory locker. Harrop now makes an electric front locker, I believe.

You'd me surprised the vehicles that can off road. There's nothing more demoralizing when you're stuck off roading and a Subaru full of teenagers go bombing by you jammin' Slayer.

 

I only have a 5 lug, and I don't try to do 4wd stuff with it. And don't want to. But people with big tires, black wheels, LED lights and lifts enjoy looking down their rear view mirrors at me.

Don't care. Bought what I want, does everything I want.

Got over worrying about what others think about my vehicle choices years ago. Try it. Simplifies life.

Rear springs are no worse than Tacomas, and it has rear discs and power seats. (pre 2020)

They make a TRD Off Road RAV4 now. If I start off roading more I may need to trade my Sport for one.

 

Yeah I went off roading with my buddy in CO who didn't have good AT tires and we got to the place where it's the "Subaru Stopper". Well, he got stuck and those little punks in the beat up Subie Outback went flying by. Slayer is an old ass band, too.
