Naa, Not the over the rail bed box. Something small. My wife came home with the one I wanted from Lowes the other day. Now she tells me I can't have it until Christmas....:(

Anyway, this box is very heavy duty, and all I want it for is some rags, extra qt. of oil, coolant/antifreeze, windsheald washer fluid, tie-downs/straps, etc. Just some stuff I need to carry but don't want in my cab. I was looking for something this exact size for a while, and when I saw it, it was perfect. Lucky my wife was with me...:D Here's a link to it:

I sold the guy that founded UWS toolboxes 3 Nissans in 2006 when I lived in GA and worked at a Nissan dealership...When I asked him how he got started in his company, he said that he had been trying to make his living making boat trailors (hence the fish) and failed miserably... He badly needed a toolbox and had some extra material so he made himself one...Had a few extra UWS face plates with the fish on it so he stuck one on the middle of his diamond plated box...Then his brother wanted one, then his friends, and people would stop him wherever he was to ask where he got his box from...Then it just boomed from there...That whole family are outstanding people and great people to fellowship with!! Just thought it was a cool story!!

Where would be a good place to purchase a UWS truck box?

i have a black slimline tool box from uws. i love it. it will hold everything i need.
i have had fullsize tool boxes before, and they take up to much room for my personal needs. you can put alot of stuff in it, it helps if you use several small tool bags, it keeps everthing organized. that way when you open the box, you are not digging around for stuff.

as for the best price i can't rember where i got mine from. i got the best price though. what i did was call uws and asked them who were their top 4 clients were.
i called them all, and saved $50 over what i could have got it from locally, even with, freight, which is built into the local price also.

This is the best of the best if your talking toolboxes. This is a Camlocker made by American Aluminum. They are the strongest on the market and also come fully carpeded. If your in the market check these out, they put UWS to shame and are about the same price.

they are nice, i looked at them. and you are right, they do put uws to shame. they should they cost about $100 to $150 more though, so they should. i have had a uws on my trucks for over 7 years, and never had a problem. i would not want carpet in a tool box. removable rubber is what i put in mine. i try and clean it up every 2 years, and throw away junk. the funny thing about tool boxes, is they have a way of collecting junk over time.

CAI, dynomax turbo exhaust system, tinted windows medium on the fronts to match the backs, hid kit hi and low beam, pop and lock tailgate, painted calipers red with caliper paint, put 2.25' leveling kit in front and a 1" block in the rear. its now level and rides WAY better (readylift)>way nicer than the revtek my buddy has i think its garbage imo<, hurst "T" shifter, 18 x 10 american racing (can't remember the name) chrome rims with badass 5 inch lip :), 12 inch rockford fosgate punch with rockford fosgate 600 watt amp, bushwacker fender flares (cheaper than replacing the one i wrecked lol) ,kc light bar with kc lights, toyota aluminum stamped skid plate, and a skull front license plate. More mods to come, thinking a 6 inch lift and arb bumper etc etc.
I got the toyota tacoma built toolbox low profile shiny aluminium and i got it used for 100bucks off kijiji here in calgary with both sets of keys it was only about 6 months old just needed a shine and a vacuum. looking to make it black but contemplating just leaving it shiny. the only thing i DO NOT like is that sometimes the sun shines off it and into the rear view mirror. but as for the actual box no drilling it bolts from inside the box into the stock bed rails for the tie down cleats i put it in within a minute.

I have had this box in 2 trucks now. I didn't want to get a new one until I decided how I was going to build out the new rig so I did a retrofit. Works fine for now and easy to get in and out. And I didn't need to pay the dealer $650 for a new toyota box...I guess that makes me cheap!
