BTW... I also rattle canned it with a textured satin black to take the gloss off.. So far it i haven't had any problems with the wear of it... It actually scratched my bed a little before it scratched it!

    For what it's worth....

I have the slim top Kobolt toolbox from Lowes. Applied my TW window decal aligned with the bottom edge of the passenger side rear window. Then I realized the toolbox does partially block the TW decal, but mostly it just blocks the ".com" part on the bottom. "TACOMAWORLD" still shows well. And when coming around the side of the truck the decal is fully visible due to the offset required for the toolbox lid to open without hitting the cab.

Also if you decide to get the toolbox...don't waste money on a mounting kit; J-bolts work well.

    See post #11 http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/sh...hlight=uws+box

I've got the DC so I wanted a box up off the floor. One of my supplier warehouses at work had some old stock Dee Zee steel double lid white boxes. I snagged the ONLY one that would work in my 5' bed, sprayed it black, and J-hooked it. I like it better than the aluminum ones because I hate the tarnish crap inside them that gets all over everything. And steel ain't goin' nowhere--won't sag like plastic.
Big plus--$50.00 clear it out price.

For the UWS owners, how easy it it to remove if I needed to (minutes). I just can't stand the thought of taking my 5ft bed and making it a 4 ft bed but those black low-pro UWS boxes look so awesome..

My Kobalt from Lowes, mounted with J-Hooks, takes about 5 mins to remove/re-install.

Just got a new uws box this weekend. I had a gull wing but couldnt fit all my gear in there, so I went with the single lid this time, much easier to put my gear in and out. 621487772_2219771708_0.jpg
