    just a tool box
I got the "Kobalt Compact Low-Profile Truck Box" as well. A great way to mount it that I came up with that doesn't require drilling into your truck bed is to use hook bolts (or whatever they are called). The "hook" part hooks underneath the tie down rail and the bolt part goes up through the slots on either side of the box where a nut tightens it down. This could still be fairly loose. The best way is to drill a hole big enough to take the hook under neath the rail. This results in a very snug fit without there being any noticeable change to the stock vehicle. And since the nut that tightens onto the bolt is inside the box, the only real way to get the box off without unlocking/opening it is to rip it off. Which goes a long way to deterring theft. Since who would want to go to all that trouble?

Does anyone have a model number for this box? Its the exact one im looking for, low profile and deep well (goes all the way to the bottom of the bed). It seems like they are either deep well, but not low profile. Or low profile but not deep well. Im having trouble finding one on the web, if anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated!

Does anyone have a fiberglass toolbox in their truck? Theyre really popular around here but I haven't seen many tacomas with them. Just curious to see what it looks like. I'll be ordering one once I get back home in a week :D

Black UWS Low Profile here...since I am accustomed to an extended cab, I am using it in lieu of the space behind the seats for weather-proof space to put in a sleeping bag/luggage/etc. Love it so far!

I had a black Husky tool box, but over the years the black paint started to crack and peel. It took a lot of abuse and held up fine, but I eventually took it off. Looks better and less like a "work truck".

i just got one, i'm in the middle of carpeting it so things don't rattle around in it when i'm offroading...I hate rattles. I'm also installing it with wing nuts so it can quickly come out to make room for two dirtbikes.

My Pro Tech box. Put it in about two months ago. I put rubber matting across the bottom to keep the rattlin to a minimal.

Hey guys, I have a tool box that I am selling. I was going to paint it black and keep it but I really have no use for it. Its in great condition hardly to any use. PM me if anyone is interested. I have the lock key and the measurements. It came with my 1st gen 5 lug sidestep taco.
