Found this one on the curb on heavy trash day. Cleaned it up and it has worked good for me.

I've got one, $45 from Wal Mart. I wanted one on the side that was easier to get to than an 'across' one. And security isn't really an issue.

I also wanted to maintain an area of full bed length for carrying long stuff.Picture044_c9ca2139012f2995afe448b1aa84b2a643ff73d0.jpg

Stripped the threads on the visible bolts so you have to unbolt the box from the angle to get it off but It can be loose enough to slide it side to side If I need

Finally arrived. Don't know what the holdup was but it's here now. Just need to thru-bolt it someday. I'm not a fan of the J-hooks.

I just remounted my toolbox to the rail. Was using j-bolts that constantly came loose from stretching etc. Also, the toolbox only rested on the bed about 1/2" on each side.
So I got some 2" 1/8" aluminum angle iron today (is it still angle iron if it's aluminum?)
Mounted those with 3/8" bolts and washers to the bed rails and mounted the box to those. Now the box is supported by 2" on each side. It seems to be sturdier.

    The holes are centered
    Photo0359_ecec6a1c709f79a6f30d195ceb7ceab8d2b2a668.jpg
from the bottom edge and rest perfectly on the rails. The toolbox now sits 1/32" above the bed on each side. The photo sucks but I took them with my phone, didn't feel like looking for my camera.

the trick is to drill the holes in the box so that the nuts jam against the angle iron and they are easy to bolt down. A little locktite and it's on very well. You'd have to look to see how it's mounted, no one will casually see that it's any different from any other tool box.

I'm planning a different setup later this year that has a bike mount, jerrycan strap and some tiedowns on a beam behind the toolbox.

Got them at the local army-navy store (actually in Pomona CA)

They were about $10-14 each. I don't recommend them unless you don't mind you stuff getting wet. I've since replaced them with a real tool box. that I just posted about mounting correctly. I did really like the look of them, just outgrew them.

UWS lowprofile. I've had it for 3.5 years now.. the emblem has come off and I have a few scratches on it... but other than, no complaints.
