They are leather seat covers that are reupholstered to your stock seats once the cloth is removed. Here are mine:

Has anyone put aftermarket seats in a single cab? The bench is not cutting it for my lower back at all. If so is there any room to recline?

    Not Aftermarket .
Bought some 2004 toyota Celica seats from a caryard.Drove 2hs away ,pulled the seats with the bolts forgot seat belt recivers.Had to carry each seat then my tool box across a modest size car junklot with a repair shop/disimbler inside the lot.Best part was scoring a deal of 85 dollars for the pair of seats.

Couple days later went to a garage with 20feet of 1inch sq steel tubing ,paid 120 dollars for welding and told them my design idea. The next day they called me and I had new seats.
With the single cab I can sit comfy and slide around a bit if needed. However you can not recline backwards much ,the window gets in the way. Oh and my friend that's 6'3 seats well as passenger but sits cramp when driving (can't recline seat back far enough:long feet hit pedels) ,his RSX coupe has more seat room and room in general.

Btw bench seat tacomas and bucket seat/combo seats don't share the same bolt patterns on the cab floor. To make my seats work with the bench I had the welder cut off and manipulate the "foot" that bolts the bench into the factory location on the floor then weld onto the sq tubing in place welded onto the seat rails. This ensured the seats would fit into any other 1995 Tacoma plus would sit level and lower than the bench seat. The seat bolts from the celica fit the seat holes of my truck so I used them since they looked in better condition.

One thing people forget with aftermarket seats is seatbelts, most seats are deisgned to hold in be used with harnesses.Might want to have a rollcage by that point. In my case I had forgotten the Celica seat belt recivers to go with the seats but Toyota sometimes finds a way to make the Taco seat belts fit the 04 Celica seats. I have no idea how changing my seats will affet my seats belt and airbag reaction in a crash . Should be okay .

How does the belt buckle attach to the seat on any of these new seat installs? I am assuming that it attaches to the track or adapter bracket. Most new seats are not fashioned like the old tacoma seats, where there is an actual spot on the lower side of the chair where the belt latch attaches.

If you look closely at the tab closest to the center console (upper left in this pic), you can see it has another tab for the seatbelt.

De nada. Another note, that tab actually sticks out too far and hits the center console, so you either have to smack it and bend it inwards, or trim your console.

The reason I know this is because I read through all those posts once... these seats are on the list for my next 'mod' once all my maintenance is caught up...

Not a suspension seat so a little bumpy, hugs you super well, and sits an inch or 2 lower for more head room and an inch or 2 more leg room, love them,

even was able to keep my amp under the seat as shown

These work great LG1, because they are smaller seats than 4Runner seats and there is room to recline so you get more leg room 2" and head room by 2 inches compared to the 4 runner sport bucket seats.

If i were you i would check out this website! It's not very well known. But they have some KICK ASS deals! They are a "drop ship" company and they sell really cheap and get directly from the manufacturer!
they have prices cheaper than the manufacturers website! happy shopping! Sorry for showing you this!!
http://www.andysautosport.com/products/cipher_auto__cpa1025pbk.html This is for a pair! I got some 5 yrs ago for $250 make your own brackets or get em on ebay. I took my seats apart and installed heated seat pads into both seats upper back and lower seat cushions and then re-assembled them and wired them to the aux cig lighter ports for a switched power source. that way if you forget to turn it off it shuts ff with the keys in off position.

I'm putting in 2001 Lexus ES300 leather heated motorized seats in. I took 60/40 Tacoma bucket seats and grinded down the rails until I could weld angle iron to the slididing mechanism.

    IMG_2221.jpg

    IMG_3158.jpg

Super comfortable and only cost me $150 for the scrap 60/40 Tacoma seats (for the mounting rails), the Lexus seats, plus the OEM seat heat switches. Much more worth it versus racing seats IMO for comfort and ergonomics. Hell they have airbags too if you want to hook them up. I just cut the harness out.
