Saw a RAK47 and VSKA this weekend at a pawn/gun shop. Asking was $1,200 each. Did not buy either of those $800 rifles

Not a fan of yellow myself, I'm liking the more red wood set (on sale). Throw on a bakelite grip and GTG.
But, is the LOP longer than warsaw pact stocks? That's the foremost reason I replaced my factory furniture with Magpul. I'd like it to be somewhere in the 13"+ range, iirc, warsaw stocks are like 12"

I think the only other option is K-Var and they're polymer sets. Not sure if Kalashnicarver does NATO length wood

    Odd duck...i like.
Reminds me of a thumbhole sporter L1A1 i modded for some reason.

If this is off base let me know.

I bought a couple AK kits back in 2000-2003 or so.
I could let the AK-74 Bulgarian, all numbers match, go...with barrel.
Kvar AK74 Bulgarian/bayo/3-mags(bake-lite) i have 3 magpul mags for it too.
Dont think i will ever build it...odd-ball ammo...that killed it for me.
    Shoot me an offer?
    Can post pics...

Needs the receiver to make it spit fire.
Have consolidated to a couple particular types of ammo, this one is one of the oddballs for me... and that 30-06 M1 Garand i will probably never shoot.
    ...sigh

oh yeah, got my snipe in the wayback when...

Very nice kit. I should have picked one up.

From what I read all the UZI and Galil kits are dried up from oversea sources.

Agreed Apex kits can be nice but like any other kit it's a gamble. You may or may not get a bayo lug, dented hood sight, cracked grips and dented charging handle knob. All replacable luckily but the receiver will not be this nice of a reweld and a beautiful tortort receiver will need to replace it.

You can’t go wrong with a SAM7R or SAM7SF. Arsenal rifles hold their value and only go up, especially if they aren’t imported anymore. A milled rifle from Arsenal of Bulgaria will last you forever. Milled guns are heavy, but they are rock solid and shoot smoother to me than stamped AKs.

    Old video of my SAM7SF.

i am likely leaning towards the sam now...i was disappointed with my slr so getting into another was questionable....

i agree milled stuff are heavy but my sharps milled alpha is one of the flattest shooting aks, granted its a heavy girl

Owner of a basic YUGO N-Pap (semi auto M70B1 i think)

Shes my only one and ive since neutered her with a grip fin (and ditched that magazine release shroud aka "bullet button" thing)
Im not sure what im going to do with her. I want a bare bones AKM style rifle, because rifle is fine
But i also would like to pickup a second AK and modernize it (you know, mlok and rubberized things)
iirc yugo AK "aftermarket tacticool" parts are farther and fewer between but since ive marred up the handguard already i figure i may aswell bubba fuck this one, I believe Magpul makes a stock but its a side folder annnnnd i cant run that in CA (unless i pin/weld a giant brake on lol)

Anyways, too poor to do any of that right now... but a man can dream.

    the fr side folder

had to max out the front sights to zero it and various paint issues and some painted over rust around the gas block - shot fine but those other small issues drove me nuts

Sounds about right with an FR. The canted sight seems a little extreme but I wouldn't put it past Arsenal. If you're really interested in a milled series I know for a fact they still have some SAM5 (5.56) in stock for $2300. It's a call in deal
