Anyone have recommendations for an optics rail for a SLR-106FR? Looking at a micro red dot.

Have seen the Ultimak gas tube mount but hear it can BBQ your optics. So considering using the traditional optic mount via the receiver side mount.

RS Regulate are hands down the best AK optics mounts on the market. The only problem is whenever sites get them in stock, they sell out extremely quickly. Midwest Industries are pretty good too.

If you have a cheap optic it can cook it, if you have a good one it’ll be ok.

I like the new AK Multimount siderail mounts and the 2nd gen Midwest Industries mounts, especially the ones that directly mount to the optic instead of pic-rail.

I like that better that. Simple and still retains your irons. I use an RS regulate on mine. This is even less stuff sticking out.

I really like the mount with the RMR, it gives me lower 1/3 cowitness and by not using the side rail on the receiver I can still fold and latch my stock.

I have a Primary Arms micro red dot sitting around. Would that fit any of their mounts or would I just want their rail?

Not familiar with AK optics mounts.

The one I have as the rail mounted to it, but they sell other mounts as well. RS Regulate makes some solid parts.

Good to know. I have a canted front sight that has to be cranked all the way over to be kind of zeroed. Would like a dot until that gets fixed.

I don't suppose anyone has an AK74 front sight block they'd like to sell, do they?

Just need an AK74 style front sight, specifically for the bayonet lug, and everywhere online is sold out right now.

Heres my experience as I have an ultimak on my arsenal. I like it it since it virtually adds zero weight to the firearm but, it does get very hot. When I first put it on I threw in and older bushnell trs-25 I had and it cooked it the first time I took it out. I replaced it with a Holosun 403 and I’ve gotten it very hot several times to put it to the test and it’s not missed a beat.
