I was just kinda wondering... When I had my dash out of the Tacoma, I swapped out the ugly Green lights for the 194 Amber lights.. It amazing how much better the $5 worth of light bulbs make the cluster look.

^color swap service???? If you can get your cluster out... which the hardest part is disconnecting the speedo cable... then the lights just twist 1/4 turn and they are out... Its easier than changing a headlight bulb...

That's the first thing I did, swapped out those hideous orange lights and went with the white LED, not just in the cluster but all the interior lights as well. 1000000000x better!

I like the amber far better than the nasty green ones in my 97.

My preference is actually the amber. Thats what's factory in my G35 and I love them.

I bought the bulbs to do this, just haven't gotten around to taking out my dash yet, it's been cold and wet lately... :(

When I do mine I also plan on taking out the bulb for the flashing seat belt light, that shit is annoying...

If you use the seatbelt the light will go out.....

Seat belt use is mandatory in most every state.
Plus it keeps you from hitting the dash or going through the windshield.
I knew some who didn't use the seatbelt.
(Notice I said knew. They aren't around anymore.)

prsgauges.net is the site I'd get it from. Prerunnerseth is a member here and he has reasonable prices.

Thank you for your input. Wearing a seatbelt is mandatory in my state. So is speeding. I guess you don't ever do that either.

If you are going to chastise me for breaking a minor law, then I am going to assume that you do EVERYTHING by the book. I will strive to be more like you. Thank you for showing me the error of my ways.

These are the bulbs we used on my son's 98 Tacoma, we bought them at superbrightleds.
    For the AC/heater we used:
    Quantity: 2
Product: 74-xHP3 Wedge Base LED bulb $ 3.49 (each)
Options: Blue 74-BHP3, 74-xHP3 Wedge Base LED bulb
3 High Power SMD LEDs with wide beam angle radially mounted - 15 lumen
Small Wedge Base LED bulb (74 type) 3/16 inch wide base, 3/4 inch overall length
    Select LED Color

and for the main gauge cluster we used
    Quantity: 3
Product: WLED-x5 LED Wide Angle LED bulb $ 2.99 (each)
Options: Blue WLED-B5 0.75, WLED-x5 LED Wide Angle LED bulb
12 VDC 5-LED Wedge Base bulb (194/168 type)
Super Wide Viewing Angle bulb uses 4 radially mounted LEDs aiming out the sides and one High Flux LED on top
    With built-in voltage regulator
    Select LED Color

    They came out really good.

I was going to do blue, but white looks pretty good! Now I don't know.
I'd rather not do led, because some of them don't dim, and there are often hot spots.

Do they look a lot better in LED, or is just the color thats better?

anyone know where to get the lights in a normal bulb?
