You guys with the Thinkware 770...I have the Thinkware x550 which is also recording at 1080. I'm not happy with it because I can't read a license plate coming or going unless its 10 feet away from me at at stop light. Even when moving slowly, the vehicle in front of me, 50 feet away, I can't read the license plate clearly. Zoom is useless because it just zooms a blurry video or freeze frame. Other than that, the video looks great daytime and nighttime with rich colors.

I have a thinkware 770. Worked off and on for a couple days then died three weeks later. Won't turn on anymore.

Seemed kind of cheap but had good reviews. Now I have a 400 dollar piece of plastic. :)

Amazon? They will likely take it back lest they stack up negative reviews...

I'm sorry to hear that. I'd contact them for a return. I'd imagine they'd be wiling to want to do the right thing. I've contacted them via email and by phone regarding technical questions and warranty questions and have had good experiences both times and can only hope I will receive the same in the future if ever needed. Regardless, I recommend contacting them.

    I will for sure.

I quit working this weekend. So I haven't had a chance yet. Maybe I'll email them too.

I have JooVuu X. It has every feature Blackvue has and excellent optics for less than 1/4th the cost. . Especially night time clarity.
I had it on my '16 taco with an adapter to mount on the GoPro mounting plate for close to a year now w/o issues.

Wow, this is a surprise. I think you were really unlucky to get a bad vendor. Most Amazon electronics have a buy back if they malfunctioned. You should pursue this further, as most online stores insure themselves. I have bought two dash cams from Amazon, and when I purchased it, there was a $19 additional fee to buy insurance from Assurion for the said dashcam for 2 years against any damage, malfunction and I was able to return the first one and get an Amazon giftcard for the price of the dashcam. The second time, I placed my purchase through a vendor on dashcamtalk.com who also included an insurance to the price of the dashcam, and he said I could return mine for any defect at anytime and he'd replace mine for free.

just grabbed a falconzero last week since my 4 month old Taco was hit in a parking lot.

Next time some a-hole wants to bang his vehicle into things, I want to get it on video..

Going to try to use the gopro mount for this. I had to get an adapter 3d printed to work.

hoping to have the truck back today to do some test fitting.

I bought two about a month ago but had to return them because they stopped automatically turning on when I turned on the vehicle. I think it had to do with firmware which I updated. The vid quality was decent. I just hated installing it all nicely and then having to take it apart. Going with more expensive known brand next.

I also have this one. The mount sucks but otherwise it's been fine for a few years.
Edit: G1W, not G1WH. Basically the same thing.

I have an A119 as well and can attest to its quality compared to its price. I have a fantastic 1080p video with audio of my former Toyota dealer verbally bashing me and pretty much disregarding my concern.

You will need a camera with capacitors instead of a battery. The battery will over heat and most cheap units will not power up unless the battery will charge. So killing a battery in 100+F will happen fast with cheap lithium batteries. You must have the unit plugged in for it to work with capacitor models. The caps hold enough power to close a video file and then power off the unit.

My wife and I just bought A119, the original model was on sale for $80 from Spytec on Amazon and they have a 1 year warranty. I watched this guy's videos and chose the Viofo. This one is just marked as Spytec, but made by Viofo. This video was made almost a year ago but most people say the A119 is still the best buy in the price range, especially at 80 bucks.

This is the only picture I took. I found that the lens had a smudge on it, after I took this.

I have an off road video that it saved after I hit a bump and the G Sensor went off and flagged the file. I will upload it to youtube

Thanks for posting the videos. Just wondering how did you mount it and where?

I bought the same camera but I am just trying to figure out where to mount it.
