I bought the one from superbrightsled . Direct plug n play on our year.

If you go to their website and enter in your vehicle specs, it will give you the bulb type.

(I'm on my phone or I'd link you to it)

a little update to my dash lighting in my truck.

the shifter issue I had was because the LED sits straight up, it shoots a beam of bright blue light like a laser pointer only in one spot so only the "D" was lit up and the rest of the letters in the shifter got little to no light at all.

so I replaced the LED I had put in the shifter with a regular incandescent amber bulb to replace the original burnt out clear bulb with amber condom on it and now it has a nice look to it as it should so im happy with it.

i also replaced the LED I had put in the ash tray which had the same issue as it was like a laser pointer rather then a light bulb so I replaced it with a regular incandescent blue bulb to replace the original burnt out clear bulb with green condom.

for the climate control I bought something called "ice blue" and it turned out to be light those blue headlights that's almost white with a blue shade to it so I replaced them with regular incandescent blue bulb and they look bluer but it only showed through the white parts and the red and blue of the temp knob kinda disappeared at night so I went back to the stock clear bulbs and I replaced the face plate and a/c and rec buttons (the inner part with the plastic doo-hicky that's uses the bulb color to light the button picture image up) with clear ones instead of my stock orange ones and the look is worlds better even though they are all white now, im happy with the look. I got the face plate and inner buttons from a 4runner climate control that was good for parts. I was going to use the whole control so I would have the green a/c and rec button lights, but I stupidly tested the LEDs by putting 12v to them and blew the led out. if you are going to test LEDs you have to add a 1K resistor in between so you don't blow the LEDs out with too much voltage, they only use like 3v.

over all, I am liking the look of colored regular incandescent bulbs much better then the LED bulbs I have tried. they just "fill" the whole area that needs to be lit up much better then the LED bulbs can. plus it doesn't have that neon glow to it.

im going to try replacing the instrument gauge cluster bulbs next with blue colored regular incandescent bulbs and see how that looks.

to those of you replacing the a/c and rec light LEDs, which LEDs are you buying to replace it with? I cant seam to find any with the design of the stock ones and I tried some blue LEDs I had but when I tested them, they didn't want to light up, so I never swapped them.

im not saying this isn't a great mod, it is a great mod, but the mod is about changing colors more then what bulb you use, im just sayin.

for me anyways, getting regular colored incandescent bulbs to replace the stock clear bulbs with colored condoms was a better looking result.

EDIT: if anyone decides to use the face plate from the 4runner like I did to get the non-orange white faceplate, you will need to sand the bottom corners a little to make it fit right. ours has a slight taper to it but the 4runner is more squared edges so you need to sand off about a 1/16" on each bottom side edge so it lays flush. you can just stick it on like that but if you push on it you will see it bend because its not sitting plush all the way. I almost didn't notice this at first.

I used these http://www.ebay.ca/itm/361246904282?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT for the two lights under mirror and their crazy bright.

For the rear overhead and door lights I used these http://www.ebay.ca/itm/271708881074?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT and their not nearly as bright but still alot brighter and better looking then factory.

You have to make sure you get bulbs that are 360 degrees coverage, all of my PRNDL is lit up blue with no hot spots

I got the diffused light standard LED bulb but it wasn't very diffused. it wasn't the ones with the flat squares on them.

im sure if I sanded the end down to stop the light from "beaming" it would have been better and maybe a different "type" of bulb would help (with LEDs only on the sides and not on the end) but I didn't feel the need for the shifter to be blue as well. I just wanted it to look normal and my bulb was burnt out so I originally was just going to replace the bulb but while I was getting LEDs for everything else, I figured why not do it too. I may go with an amber LED when and if the incandescent bulb I put in ever burns out

Is it possible to remove the orange condoms over the bulbs to achieve white gauges? Without using LEDs...

You could try it but its going to be more of a yellowish color Id imagine, just as easy to replace with LEDS

it will give you a "warm" color and not the LED white, think regular light bulb color. Even the "Cool White" LEDs I have aren't "white" and slightly on the warmer side to the human eye.

True I've just read a few mixed reviews about the white giving people a headache and not looking natural... Main thing I want is to being able to dim them enough and not have any color bleed. I may go with the "warm" LED color since that's what I have in my dome lights and they aren't bluish at all but rather have a crisp whiteness to them

I can dim them pretty low. And so far no problems at all driving :)
