    I tried getting the ash tray bulb out but it wouldn't budge. Can you explain how I can remove it? And I thought the lighter was a 194, mine has the orange condom, once I remove that it will look green as well.:D

    the ash tray snaps in but there is no way to press the detents in. i had to pull kinda hard even tho it seems like it is just in loose.

    the lighter bulb seemed like it was built into a custom plastic housing and i couldnt isolate just the bulb

    yeah. the bulb holder spins around kinda loose but it doesn't seem to matter which way you turn it you still gotta tug on it a bit. an alternative would be to pull the clear lens on the front and swap the bulb that way but i was afraid i would break the cover.

    Do you have to scratch the orange paint off of the HVAC panel? I did the gauge cluster swap and I got the 4mm Neo wedge bulbs for the HVAC area to install on Wednesday. My truck is an 04 Tacoma 4x4 DC. What is the orange paint they're talking about anyways?

    I also notice it's a bitch to get part of my dash above the steering wheel off. Hate how my American assmbled truck had to put the damn cruise control right in the way.

    Top is stock tacoma, bottom is 4runner. You can see on the top left what it looks like when you try to scrape the orange off.

    You can't, it will literally remove the white printing with it.

    I got mine off a dude who was parting his 4runner out. They are pretty difficult to find or you can get a whole assembly off ebay from a part out. If you can get the assembly for like $30-40 it's worth it. Also I don't think that other dude meant to act like he was better than anyone else.

    :rofl: You like to talk to about yourself and your ideas and don't give a crap what someone else says about their truck. I was just saying even if you get rid of most of the orange (but good luck doing that), it will still affect the bulb color. Mine and other's who switch to a 4runner face plate are clear not orange.
