correct on both. I think the 4Runner faceplate is a "little" off for size and may need a touch off the edge but mine stays put and hasn't come off so I'm good

ebay/CL/junkyards. they are harder to come by now so I'll keep an eye out but no promises :(

But you used the whole HVAC unit not just the faceplate correct? I just don't want to take a chance of installing the 4Runner HVAC unit and it not working as well since my truck's HVAC unit is perfect

I changed the bulbs and faceplate so the blue shines through but I'm not taking a chance of a crappy unit out of a junkyard vs. the one in my truck that I know works great. I will save the other "crappy" unit when the one in my truck goes out. I don't use the A\C during the winter anyways or the recirc button and during the summer it is mostly light out.

same, I haven't used A/C all but a handful of times when it gets above 85% humidity in summer. I still have to try the defrost mod for the panel. would be nice to just have air flowing on the windshield instead of tapping the condensor

What's your plan cause I'm not OCD enough to have to worry about the little bit of orange on the cigarette lighter. By the way what is the bulb for the cigarette lighter . I bought the whole unit to an 02 4Runner but from a junkyard so I am not going to use it till the original one in my truck goes out first because it works perfectly fine.

I've been trying to get mine to work with a blue led I had for a while now but cant get the damn thing to light up.

Also I hate to kick in more OCD but @keakar mentioned if you run this style bulb in HVAC you can get the AC and Defroster labels to light up too.

check it, I bet its not orange, if its from a 4runner its likely that washed out pale green color from a clear bulb with green condom on it.

I'm thinking about selling just the front faceplate and keeping my computer module. And I'm putting the green condom from the HVAC pannel onto my cigarette lighter.
