This. For a city truck it's fantastic. I just wouldn't off road with it.

Sounds like a good vehicle but put that thing next to a Tacoma and it looks like a runt.

My dclb 4x4 only has 1200lbs payload. The only tacos I'm aware of that might be that high are AC Prerunners.

Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
...^^^... IIRC, a full size spare on a full size rim will fit in the bed trunk on the wheel shelf.

My Ridgeline would carry more than my Tacoma without swatting down in rear, but it was bigger than my Gen. 2.

It rode too good/soft for me .... I like the Tacoma light truck ride of a body on a frame design.

The Ridgeline would be a great truck for a family who wants 4WD at low to high speeds, but no serous off roading.

It's kind like a BIG luxurious version of the old Subaru Brat like someone mentioned. Great vehicle if it's what you need and want.

PS. I miss the Subaru Brat :)

It reminds me too much of an el camino. The cab and bed was an after thought. Almost like a pilot cab then a chopped down.

In my mind, no box frame, it isn't a truck

Ummmmv You mentioned car seats.....this is one of the reason I want to know more about the RL because my Taco is so tight....I take my boys - 3 of them- to school everyday and 2 are still in car seats...with 2 kids in the back and their gears...NO MORE room for anything in the Taco but I don't want another SUV (use our GX460 on weekend). Tundra Crew Max will solve this issue but I drive 300+ miles/week, 80/20 city/hiway for kids' school activites/daycare/lunch...and Tundra's MPG will get old really quick.

Manly image??? Nah...not a young dude anymore...before the Taco I drove an RX450h. I don't offroad anymore....and rarely tow anything except Home Depot runs.....I'll give it a test drive when local dealer (only 1 in 50 miles surrounding) have more in stock. Thanks.

Can't tell if you're being facetious or not but doesn't the Tacoma have a C-frame?? As in.. Not boxed??

I can't get past the looks to even build and price it online. As others have said, it looks like a newer car/truck hybrids that just won't stay dead. The nose almost looks like they copied the Titan but scaled it down. It's. Just. So. Ugly.

I will admit even the new tacoma had to grow on me, but WTF Honda you would think they would have learned from poor sales the first time, this new ridgeline is even more car looking/acting, I just don't think there's a big enough market for it if any, plus the price.

Sorry, I meant "body on frame"......You can't build a unibody truck that will carry or tow IMO

You're right, I sure it appeals to some, or it probably wouldn't be built. It obviously isn't meant to be in my driveway, but it it fits the wants/needs then go for it. I was probably a bit harsh.

It depends if they can buckle themselves. If they can get in the seat and buckle up it should be O.k. It would not be easy to lean in and buckle them up a few times a day. Its not bad, its just that it seems like the rear door could open a touch more. The bonus though is the bed trunk. All the gear can go in there and you have more room in the cab. I hope you can see one for yourself soon, I know its hard trying to go off what others are saying.

Gotta agree with you on the location of the spare and the fact that it's not a full sized spare.

There's no doubt it's a better daily driver. The appeal to me in a truck is the pure utility and the fact that it isn't a car. I want to 4 wheel, I want the mechanical visceral feeling, I want rugged simplicity and I want a body on frame construction. If road manners and comfort are your top two, then the Ridgeline is your truck.

Sounds like a decent truck. Honda has definitely made some improvements. I just can't stand the mini van look when looking directly at it. Just awful.

The front end is very soft and rounded, but here is what I have determined. I have a badass bobber style bike with mono shock, stripped down no fenders, the works. Looks great and get lots of compliments, but when I get to my destination my back hurts, my hands are numb, but I look cool. I am willing to trade off looking cool to enjoy the ride and be comfortable. Don't get me wrong, the Tacoma is a comfortable truck for the most part, but the Ridgeline is just more comfortable and in my aging years with this vehicle probably being my last new vehicle purchase, comfort trumps looks.
