This. 3rd gen looks good. 4th gen has a few slightly different lines but overall looks pretty similar. If one passed me going the other way I doubt I’d be able to immediately tell the difference. All the hand-wringing and panty-bunching over every aspect of the body lines is kind of weird.

Like that a Hell of a lot better than the 4G that is for sure. Going to be a long wait or pay through the nose to get one. Need a truck or van more than I do need a SUV though. Be ok for my wife though.

We used to be a one truck one suv household, that worked very well…now we have two Tacomas. Seems a bit redundant, but she loves driving the Taco.

A lot of people here absolutely howled at Gen3’s looks way back in 2015. I’ll admit, at first, I thought it was somewhat pig-like at the nose. But years later, it’s generally considered a standard of good truck design. Go figure.

So, it’s probably a good idea to subjectively take a deep breath, and give Gen4 some time to acclimate our eyes. Who knows, maybe even that dent in rear quarter will look better in person.

Beyond looks, how it drives, tows, hauls, off-roads, highways, and what it’ll cost are all still mysteries. Not to mention how many first-year TSB’s & recalls b/c you know those will be coming too. Gen4 is an obvious winner right out of the box, but if recent history guides us, the very best ones to have might be the ‘26’s.

I liked the 4th Gen looks from the start, so no change for me. Cool features.

I'm not in the market for one since my 2nd Gen performs great, but I hope the drivetrain improves from the 3rd Gen.

Sometimes I look at it and think it looks pretty badass. Other times, especially with other trims you like at it and think it’s kinda ugly. The way the rear bumper meets to the rear quarters on like the off-road doesn’t appease my eye, and the front end, just below the grill and the chin spoiler make me want to gag. Personally I just want to see a few in person before I make the call. Honestly can say I’m not a big fan of the new Tundra styling so kinda wondering how this truck is gonna be in person

Over all the 3rd gen looks dated to me. Same with 2.5 gen Tundra, which I own. But the color changes all of that. The lunar rock and cement grey look so much better so the older gen in those colors looks better than newer gen. For same reason the Sport or OR package looks better.

Most of the hate for the newer models are just people being jealous. The older gens do have proven reliability and like mine its paid off but too much hate for the newer ones. Although maybe if they just had an option for the V6 with newer tranny would be much more responsive and very close so same MPG. I had F150 5.0 with 10 speed and got 19 mpg all the time, but ended up with 2021 Toyota for the reliability. Above all I don't want any mechanical issues and can live with older model.

Even other Tundra owners think mine is a "new" one.

    Jealous over what?

Think the 4G is kinda ugly, also think the new Land Cruiser is darn near perfect.

    Both new models.

Exactly, I doubt anyone is jealous. And most people that are will say they are because perhaps they simply can’t afford a newer model.

A lot of times body changes are an acquired taste. Sometimes it’s really hard to acquire it. One thing that needs to be considered in todays economy is pricing. Would you be willing to pay 40-50k for a truck that you don’t really care for the looks or design of? I wouldn’t

I know right. What is there to be jealous over? Was considering of trading in my 3rd on 4th before the reveal, that has faded. Think my 3rd Gen is kinda ugly too, bought more out of necessity than looks.

And now with the 4G, it is like I forcing myself to to like it, then look at how much it cost and compare it to what else is out there for the same money. Think I rather have something else, questioning if I really need a truck cause that Land Cruiser is sweet! That or just go to another brand to get something more for my taste and needs.

Or better yet, run my 3rd Gen up to nearly a half million miles like I did my 1st Gen and save my money…as vehicles are horrible investments, one if the worst things to spend money on.

At least it has the D4S cleaning cycle which other pickups with the 4 cylinder turbo direct injection motor (ranger 2.3) do not have. Toyota really took their time with this choice and made it better for the consumers, unlike ford. Carbon buildup will not be an issue for these trucks thankfully.

I guess. Don’t really like how my 3rd Gen looks either, so there is that. Do like the drivetrain and chassis specs on the 4G, body not so much.

You said the 3G looks dated, actually wish it was more dated, better if they made the 4G look more like the Land Cruiser. The 4G is too Transformer robot for me, it is like they designed it for adult children, where the Land Cruiser is for a more mature market, it is refined both exterior and interior.

Does the 4G say “Autobots roll out!” when you put in drive? :)

Would be way more excited if the Tacoma looked like this, that screams Toyota to me, the 4G don’t know what the hell they were thinking. Same with the Tundra.

Give me an access cab version of this, and I couldn’t give them my money fast enough.

That and the interior, I drive 20-25K/year…regardless of how the sheet metal looks, much rather spend my time inside looking at the LC dash over the 4G. While both are similar, the LC is a bit more refined. The Tacoma is a bit too “bro” for me.

Make that a 2dr keep the same wheelbase raise the bed sides some, and the black bumper trim from the base model and some steel wheels that would be a cool truck. Toyota could offer it in Sao Paulo lime for the funk if it.

    That would be cool!

When I see that color think of school crossing sign hi-viz yellow green.

There is a Silverado, C8 Vette and a Camaro running around here in that color. Did Chevy offer it as a custom color? Or is coincidence that three different Chevy owners have the same wrap?

I have only seen the Camaro in Shock green, it might work on a Silverado 1500 RCSB with LT and wide fenders with big tires.

I'd rather have 2500 RC, this is the first 2024 RC I have seen with the updated interior.

The updated interior is so much better, the previous looks like it was designed by Fischer Price.

I’d be all over that regular cab if I was wasn’t a middle aged man that need to recline the seat to take my mandatory afternoon nap. Though a GFC would fix that, guessing my 15-20 minute Power Nap, would turn into 2-3 hours… lol!

The GFC looks good on the RC, I should have gotten the 22 250 RC I wanted. I saw someone driving the RC F-150 I was looking at, had to be the same truck 23 carbonized gray 4x4 XL RC can't be too many of those out there.

I still don't like it. I hate the new tundra, and this just looks like a smaller version of that aesthetically. I'll prob go test drive one when they hit my local dealership to see how I really feel about it.

I do like the interior, but a fancier interior isn't going to make me jump to a 50k+ pickup truck

I have Similar thoughts, my 2016 4runner pro and 2010 tacoma Off-road have zero payments so this new gen would have to be awfully iconic to get me to write a check.
