I can second the upholstery wear. I've also got some body rust (but I live in wet/humid St. Louis). Its bumming me out a bit. Just hit 28,XXX.

Thanks. Which motor and transmission is in your truck? Any issues/nuisances with your transmission or rear axle?

ESP Lockable Rear Seat Storage, MobTown Lockable Bed Hatches, lots of cool Mobtown products (Rear Bumper, complete set of 1/4" steel skid plates, sliders), Old Man Suspension and a bunch of other practical off-road tools to bulletproof my truck...
I purchased my 2016 Tacoma TRD OR model on 12/23/2015...I drive 108 miles round trip 4 days a week to work. I currently have 56,456 miles on my truck. Although I have not been real excited about the transmission, I have not had any issues with my truck...The brakes are original and according to Firestone Care I still have 65% on the pads all-around. I have the alignment for life and have had the front end aligned 2 times now...I change the oil every 10,000 miles and everything seems to work as it should. I use my truck every weekend for construction of my road and new house on my 20 acres...and truly beat this truck hard, so if it was going to take a dump on me it would have by now...

I've got the 3.5. Automatic Transmission. The tranny definitely hunts when I'm being gentle with it. If it really bugs me I just hit ECT and throttle a little more aggressively. The power is there, it just doesn't really deliver until high rpm. My 2016 VIN is in the rear differential TSB/recall, but I did not see any weeping when I inspected my self. I will no more shortly when I go in for my 30,000.

Bottomline, if you're looking for a midsize pickup I still thing the Tacoma is the way to go. The level of aftermarket support and the community goes a long way for me.

I have the six speed manual transmission. No real issues. The dealer tells me the recalls don't pertain to my vin, but I do get the clunk sound going from 1st to 2nd. I average about 21mpg stretching a tank to about 415miles.

The V-6 with 6speed auto. While it's not the greatest combo in the world, I've gotten used to it and just enjoy driving it for the truck that it is. The tsb rev 2 helped a lot. I don't mind the recalls, just part of buying a brand new truck. Do I believe toyota rushed this truck a little, yes, but it's still far better than it's mid size competitors. My dad has a 2017 1794 tundra 4x4 crew cab and I would never consider trading up to that tank lol. It's my first tacoma, but I'm sure I would have fallen in love with the second gen too.

This is my 3rd Tacoma...my first was a '98 single cab...that thing was a beast with the 5-speed manual trans. Had it until 2007 when they took it for the frame recall. It had 128,000 on it. I also had an '01 automatic which I fought to keep. I had 135,000 miles on it when I sold it Toyota re framed that one.

2016 TRDOR V6/AT in service 2/1/2016. I am at 18 months and approximately 53,000 miles. So far, just oil changes and tire rotation. The original tires still have a few thousandths of usable tread, I think they will make 60k or a little beyond.

The only issue I have is that the radio/nav screen will randomly reboot about once a month for no apparent reason. I lose my nav preference settings.

Other than that, I did have a rear sensor go bad under warranty. Before I could get to the dealer to get it repaired, I was rear-ended by an uninsured driver. I picked up the offending sensor from the middle of the road. LOL. The sensor was replaced at the Toyota body shop when the truck was repaired. I also got a new tailgate out of the repair and I think they did an excellent job with the Quicksand paint color.

Usually 3rd to 4th but sometimes 4th to 5th and not even when cold. One day was on a long road trip and did it two or three times that day after I'd been driving for hours.

Thank you. You mentioned "Rev2" TSB. Are referring to the "Rev1" Transmission TSB?

It sounds like our transmissions have valve body flaws that Toyota is trying to bandaid with software patches. I have the 3-4 flare as well. For me, it is usually a first acceleration. After that, the flares go away. I don't have the Rev1

If I could only fill my Auto Transmission...with a highly explosive incendiary, and detonate. I believe this would solve the issue.
