I will never financially recover from this
    40k on a 2018.

If I keep this up I can hit 1,000,000 in 50 years, or before I turn 74 years old and get Toyota to give me a brand new 2070 Tacoma

this right here is why I bought the 2.7

doubt there’s been many issues if any along the way outside of regular maintenance.

I’m about to turn 60k with zero issues and I’m not afraid to use her powerband

180k on my neighbor’s 3.5... the 2GRs are weird. I have no doubt some will go 300k, but at the same time I’ve seen 2 blown engines (still under warranty) in the short time I was working at Toyota. The techs were all like: “tHe nEw tAComA iS jUnk” :duh:
I don’t agree. But the quality control on the 2016-2017s has been questionable.

I just got out of my 3rd gen lease, and picked up an 09 2.7 since I didn’t want another car payment for a bit. I definitely trust this engine more, but merging onto the highway is hilariously slow. Gonna turbo it after a few paychecks... and I’m sure it’ll do another 200k while boosted. Lol

Anybody over 150k? I might go look at 2017 with 94,000 miles tomorrow but a little weary of the 3.5 compared to the 4.0.

I am the second owner of my 2017. Bought it with 80,000 miles on it. Currently at 114,000 and have not had to do anything aside from normal maintenance. I did change all fluids and spark plugs at 100k. New tires recently. Still on the original brake pads and rotors. Mostly highway miles and country roads.

73000 on my 2018. I'm disappointed in the 6 speed manual. I'm having weird drive train vibrations. Can't tell If it's in the transmission or rear-end, Toyota has a whole new front diff and carrier assembly ordered for it and I just had the vaccum pump replaced because it was knocking like hell. don't ride it real hard, some off road miles in my hunting lease but mostly highway and pulling my 16ft aluminum boat on the weekends.

Just broke 170k in my 2016 DCSB OR M/T and I love it. Haven't had one single issue so far and I'm pretty much all stock. I do have that pesky front timing chain cover leaking oil but I will pull the motor and reseal it when It comes time for a new clutch, but that could be awhile because that stock clutch can take a beating, but other than that I have full confidence in the 3.5 with the manual trans lasting a very long time. I have to say I still love my 16 Tacoma so much and I'm SO happy I stuck with the M/T. My only regret was not getting a pro model but that's not entirely my fault because toyota screwed us 16 guys for a pro model.
Any questions on what maintenance I've done or mods just ask!

While I love the 2.7 and it's undisputed reliability, which maybe due to its simplicity, It's unfortunate that TOYOTA won't make it in DCLB, else I would have one. The 3.5L litter though has its advantages and I love it too, just dread the issues that could potentially come up but haven't, due to its complexity although quality build.

The being said, I only have 60k miles on my '16 where I would normally have around 80k, but due to the world wide coff I've been curtailed.

Never the less, I've found a 3.5L 4X4 with 200k on the clock and I have little doubt we'll see 400k soon as a regularly life expectancy.

    Enjoy!
