Been looking into getting a black grille, along with a couple other small things. I was just wondering who here replaced their stock grille and if it worked/was compatible with the TSS

    thanks!

@FreshMexicanTaco has affordable pro heritage grills. I got mine from him and my dealer thinks it OEM.

I agree with you and there is just a lot there about that and that the recall doesn't affect the system, but I guess others are having the problem, so be careful and cover your six

I ordered the TacoVinyl Grille /TSS comparability and color matched Toyota badge. Looks great in pics, hoping it's just as good in person.

I’ve been eyeballing this grill myself but was kind of holding off until I heard some real feedback on the TSS functionality. I saw one in person with no letters the other day, but it was on a 16, so no TSS.

I'm still waiting. They said it's a 2 to 3 week turn around. Coming up on two weeks on Wednesday so I'm hoping to get a tracking number soon. Amazon prime has spoiled me. I remember when you used to order from catalogs/magazines and It would take a month lol.

Anyway i'll post in the TacoVinyl thread once I get it installed. Hopefully TSS won't give me any issues.

thanks for the link, I saw his post doesn't show a spot for the TSS but it looks like yours has one, was that extra?

The TSS goes behind the piece of acrylic under the “Tacoma” the little shiny square. The Grille comes with everything you need for the TSS and fit perfectly! The link I sent you should be for the 2018+ grille he makes 2 one for no TSS and one with TSS.

I have an OEM Pro grille that I haven't install as of yet, im doing the recall beforehand. I've looked at other aftermarket ones but the thing I hate the most imho is that they are just a flat piece of metal without any suitable lines etc. Thats the reason i went with the TRD Pro grille. The only manufacturer I found that makes a grille that is different from the rest is from BAMF, however they don't make them for the 2018+, unfortunately. Picture below.

I was in the same boat when I bought my truck I had 100% plans to do the TRD Pro grill it looks amazing! But same reason lots of people are switching back to there OEM OR grilles everyone on this planet seems to have the Pro grille. Might be different where you live but I’m in BC Canada and I would say if I pass 20 Tacoma’s a day 1-2 DO NOT have the Pro grille which lead me to look else where for something a little different.

And like I said I do think they are one of the nicest looking grilles out there!

I just did the tacovinyl but opted out on the letters and went with a 3d printed emblem. No issues with sensor location and 3” lift.
