You can do that, just a payment a month less interest, you got a new vehicle and no debt.

 

Paid 27k for my 15'. Put 5k down and paid it off in a year,due to a really good year at work. No vehicle payments are NICE!

 

Paid cash for the truck, from the dealership . Leaves more money to spend of the truck.

 

My 2014 Is paid off but my 2018 isn't lol

 

I think it's a hoot this thread started 10 years ago and the OP hasn't been around in 3.

Yet it breathes on it's own.

That said, I've not made a vehicle payment since around '88.

I view debt as my enemy, and being debt free as a form of freedom. As in not being beholding to anyone.

 

Kinda late but paid it off last year Now getting ready to buy a weekend toy for the trails and camping....new 4Runner Off Road Premium

 

You will never regret it. Sometime when you want to feel ill, multiply your monthly payment by the number of months you are paying then compare that to the purchase price - not good.

 

I could not agree more, debt is indentured servitude which is voluntarily entered into..

 

I sleep well at night. No payments.

Paid mine off on the 10th now I can say it's mine & debt free!

 

Saved and paid for both. My friends make payments...not something I think I'd wanna try.

 

The first time you pay cash is scary and awesome. It’s a really big check, at least to me. Finance guy still wanted to run my credit. Once he saw the score he told my son, “you’re goal is to have credit as good as you’re parents.”

I saved first and then paid cash.

 

Bought mine early April 2009, paid in 48 payments... So finished 2014. Now I don't care when the truck sits for weeks in the driveway, it's so useful to carry stuff and it's paid off!

 

My dad was born and raised in the Great Depression and always paid cash for every vehicle he ever owned. He always said "don't let then get you by the short hairs"! I haven't quite been able to do that but I paid off my 2015 in two years.

 

Paid off my 2012 in 2014 and hope to drive it without a truck payment for 20 years.
